Guardian Investigator questline should be more prominent to prepare new players for guardians

Hi,

This isn’t a quasi-bug report. I know the questline is hidden. I think it shouldn’t be. I think this questline, which does a great job of educating players about the guardians and how to prepare for them, as well as how to fight them, should be more prominent to new players, as it could do a great job of introducing them to that aspect of the game. As it stands, many players have missed that questline or found out about it well after they’ve faced the guardians that come up in it. I think the game would play smoother and be a better experience for players if this questline wasn’t hidden from them as much as it was and if players around the appropriate ilvl were guided towards this questline more than they currently are.

Thanks for hearing me out!

I understand your point but you’re slightly wrong.
When you finished vern there was a purple quest called “Raid: Ur’nil” (or something about raid) as a starter in Guide quest tab, while talking to the NPC connected to that quest she/he was telling key mechs how to kill guardian quicker/safer. Upon completing the NPC told you which guardian she/he is investigating next and where you can find her.
The problem is most people skipped that dialogue banging G on the NPC so after it felt like the questline is hidden but it’s not.
To be honest I skipped it too at the beginning but when I hit like t2 around 900gs I was checking which una tasks are locked and found out there are una tasks on different islands: Foggy Ridge, Frost Haven, Woeful Drylands. They were locked because you had to complete some guardian quest first.

Fair point. OK, let me phrase this differently then.

A lot of the playerbase seems to turbo-g through a lot of the game’s content. I’m bracketing that issue, as some don’t even see it as an issue (especially when it comes to 2nd, 3rd, etc. playthroughs of content). My point is that the guardian investigator content specifically is pretty fundamental to preparing players for that core aspect of the game’s content. So instead of that questchain being so precarious and easily missed out on, maybe emphasize it more and make it more likely for players to be aware of it and opt in/out if they so choose. I just missed it because – I think for arguably valid reasons – I hadn’t been all that focused on the dialogue of the moment that I was passing through and then learned about and prepared myself for all the guardians w/ content outside of the game. Clearly the designers care to provide this info to players, so…don’t make it so easy for players to miss.
