no nickname is available, a lot of bot occupying the nicknames and people selling even for 400$ this is absurd for the company to allow this. Anyone who really wants to play and cares about having a cool nick like me has to create something like “kzxcmakskc” because they already have all of them unavailable. This game has already filled my patience, it’s better to leave it to the bots.
I have a family name for all my alts, from there I just need to find a suiting first name according to how I want to RP that character, I’ve been denied a name only one time with this approach.
Selling nicknames in game? What a scam. The nickname is taken for some time even after character deletion, there was CM post about this.
If you want a nice cohesive nickname look for name generators, pick the name you like and name all your chars: nicknameClass, like if you pick Mangeo for nickname and want a paladin you create Mangeopaladin or Mangeopally.
well nics are locked per region and not per server as in many other games and if you want to give it away you have to buy a rename ticket to make it accessable instatly because if you just delete the char it will be locked for 60 days. so the only way i would give away one of my names would also be that i get paid for it, atleast for the tickets anyway, just choose one name and give your alts numbers…they are anyway just here to help funneling materials into your main so by simply giving them numbers it should be fine
names like those are more likely been by 3 days head start founder’s pack users.
also high possibility that most of them quit, locking the name forever
You sound like someone who not often uses google and never played games. Since it is 2022 I can’t image that.
LA is, although a lot of people claim it to be f2p, a money machine. Not only for the publisher/devs. How severe it got you can see it on people who spend 100k real life money only to get a weapon or on stuff like the OP was posting. Even nicks aren’t free anymore.
I know these sites lmao, on release of this game all good names were taken already, doesn’t change that this guy is crying cuz he can’t call himself Edgelord or something and says he has to use bot names when other names are still viable
Finding a Nick really can be a pain.
I thought I had some uncommon nicks in other mmos, but found out that I have thought wrong.
Though I look up a few names from fanatsy books I own. Still had a hard time but I made it.
What I really dislike are names like Lêgòlás etc. This should not be allowed.
I’m pretty sure it would help, if nicks would be taken away from “retired” Chars or accounts. Not using the char for 90 days (level1) or not logging in for 180 days and the names are free.
They should introduce the system like Discord has, so Gitgud#231, Gitgud#555, Gitgud#21 and Gitgud#445 could clear Kakul together for the ultimate gitgud! (No idea what’s the supposed meaning of this word).
Yeah, they should disable it, I have a bard whose name has an accented A because I really wanted the name but it was taken and now people just can’t invite me because nobody has that accented A on their keyboards, a big oof on my side xd.
How would you name the old character then? RetiredNicknameOld? And if someone took it and stopped playing, too, RetiredNicknameOldOld?
The system is doomed from the start, the names are region wide (because you can raid with people from different servers), everytime I made an alt I had to spent like 20 minutes browsing baby names websites to find something not yet taken…
I don’t think it’s fixable, we just need to get more creative.
To take away names from level1 chars would not hurt. These are “nameholders” to sell nicks or to reserve them for a long time. This should not be posible.
Although the retired accounts should not be a problem. With more than 1million players at start there are plenty of them. Even Blizz is able to take your nick after 6 month. It does not happen often but it does once and a while. My Tauren warrior “Manowar” lost his name.
If someone whould come back after 6 month or longer they should be forced to look for a new nick before starting to play.
