Harder class to master?

Honestly I don’t even think gunslinger is hard to master.

If you have side buttons on your mouse and tag the gun swap to those the transition is pretty normal.

I think people without those buttons will find it hard to play because I was the same way before but once I found those out it’s like…ezmode and became quite enjoyable to play.

But gunslinger as a class…moving around constantly in > out repositioning back and forth to apply debuff in for shotgun out for snipe… etc just makes me annoyed at times. Before it was fun like DAMN I’m moving around so much and feel like I have so much control…but compared to my perfect suppression melee class where you just focus on back attacks and minimal movement for the same or better dps…it’s like yeah no thanks for all that extra shit.

Deathblow Striker is very hard to play, especially if you aim for MVP with a team which has the same ilvl (even if your ilvl is superior it is hard - I’m talking about valtan/Vykas). Also, he is slow as fuck and spirit absorbtion is without raid captain super useless. It just makes the unit a bit faster. Deathblow is in my opinion one of the hardest to learn/master classes in the game. One position fail makes u useless. Missing your rotation, makes you useless, missing crits also makes you useless. A average horizontal progression makes him useless.

I feel it since valtan, people will get to know their classes first time with kukul or breszshala. Everything until kukul is just a sweet little game. Flexing with mvp in guardian raids a funny joke.

My man I play 10 characters, some of which are burst classes…and you don’t have to think half as hard on any of said characters compared to surge. I’m not talking out of my ass like I don’t have experience with other classes. And I’m talking mostly Valtan/Vykas geared characters, with a few around 1370-1400…fully geared, with 4x3s.

I didn’t find surge that difficult to play, you have a very generous window in which to hit your surge. Depending on how fast you build your stacks you can really delay your blade strike, ofc that reduces max DPS but it’s better than missing most of the time.
Surge really only has one cooldown to manage, and that’s surge. All the other abilities are always there for you to use either due to entering death trance halving its cooldown or having an inherently low cooldown.
Other burst classes also need to make sure they hit head/back, but normally have one or more synergys that are harder to hit/sync up than deathblade’s back attack debuff, and can’t delay their burst anywhere near as much as deathblade due to their smaller window in which they have to burst. Redlancer comes to mind, as well as esoteric dancer.

On that note, if you enjoy a difficult and rewarding class I’d highly recommend redlancer. It’s a lot of fun, and despite how tanky you are on ilvl your lack of mobility means you need to know a boss well to get your DPS out in a short window, as well as needing to challenge a boss directly to their face.
You have to abuse your hyper armour toggle to get through a lot of patterns due to your low speed, and unlike bluelancer your shield meter is always running low due to your class engraving and lack of blue skills.
If you want to true chadlance, the red counter skill is great as well. 70% of the time a complete waste in your rotation, but is a true hero when you need it most. Chuck a purify rune on it as well to make it even more of a reversal.

I assume most of these players stating surge is easy arent doing vykas hard

I also assume berserker and gunslinger are the very hardest because they’re always dead on the floor

I don’t think he went to Vykas with it. :slightly_smiling_face:
Surge is very difficult in end contents. Especially Vykas when the boss is humanoid size + constant movement. I’d love to see a video of anyone saying it’s easy and see how good they are.

I concur, surge is really hard in Vykas while other classes specially hit masters just free hit. Boss range attacks are more forgiving in that mode, for example vykas spinning attack in g3, range attacks just need to see vykas spinning to know where is the safe position while melee(specially head/back) attackers needs to know she is doing sideways to see if she going to spin.

Honestly, it is easier then I expected. As WD I usually have problems with small humans, especially since I need to hold my movement constantly and it keeps slipping around small targets, but Vykas is large. And she holds reasonably well. No erratic moves and spins like Descaluda who is capable of getting out of “instant” skills like nothing

Few moves needs to be spotted, but you are sniffing her ass so once you saw it once it will be only easier. This is basically what we do 24/7. How long it took to avoid Argos back kicks? This is same. I expect eventually we just react without thinking. So I would not call that “hard”. Just “new”.

if you think Hit master classes have it easy try artillerist
its fun when the boss just jumps out of range in less than 1 sec because he just want to and your atacks just miss
i like it the most when i use the laser and the boss can just walk out of it because some other range class just go agrro

Not sure we have done the same fight, Vykas p2 is constantly flying around / dodging everything, if you find it easy very well done to you most people find her movements hard

ive only done p3 on my bard so far, doing on dblade tonight so ill see if its easier than p2

I am 1475 deadeye main. Never had problems being accepted into party and I am going with pug pretty much everywhere including HM Vykas that I have done in 2 days

cool i’m a gunslinger did HM in a pug too. We’re 2 peas in a pod. We play this game in HM people don’t understand that.

I feel like surge deathblade is a good one.
You have to be super dynamic to adjust rotation and flow based on your target to maximize damage output.

Surge when played effectively is much better in DPS compared to remaining energy. I’ve been playing surge since NA release and recently tried remaining energy. I just wasn’t doing as much damage, but in certain situations playing surge is way harder than RE but the reward feels so good.

It feels really satisfying, however I cannot stand playing Deadeye. Haven’t tried Gunslinger yet but I assume they’re very similar.

Those are probably the hardest two in our current version, but trying to play them makes my brain turn into spaghetti and I hate how squishy they are.

I might try again because for some crazy reason I’ve been wanting to give Deadeye or GunSlinger another try.

Are you dropping 20 stacks? I’d love to see the video of you playing. :open_mouth:

You guys are still trying to convince other people that surge is hard ?

Can’t be happy if it’s not everyone saying “WOW SURGE IS SO HARD ON VYKAS” hu ?

i got a lopang GS 1325 sitting there, i want to play it but every time i do i mess up so many times with the rotation… is deadeye the same? bloody 14 button opening rotation with 2 wep swaps within a 7 second window or some crap idk i forget lol.

Deadeye is a bit similar but you don’t use rifle as often. It’s more just for filler when your shotgun and pistol skills are on cooldown. You have to maintain your synergy with your pistol skills and use pistol for mobility as well.

The biggest difference with Deadeye is it focuses on shotgun and landing back attacks. You also have a couple pistol skills that do pretty heavy damage.

Cant help I have fresh 1370 deadeye I have not figured out correct rotations yet.

There really is no “rotation” with Deadeye. You play based off the situation and what cooldowns you have available. Obviously you want to prioritize your shotgun skills. You have Sign of Apocalypse and Last Request as your faster shotgun skills and Shotgun Rapid Fire and Shotgun Dominator as your slower but more powerful attacks.

So when you have a longer burst window you want to prioritize landing Shotgun Rapid Fire and Shotgun Dominator, for example during a stagger or you know the bosses animation. For shorter windows you go with the other two. But again it also often just comes down to what’s available when a window to attack arises. When your Shotgun skills are on cooldown or it’s better/more convenient to attack from range you use your pistol skills (quickshot, cruel tracker).

You want to make sure you are keeping your synergy crit buff active with your pistol skills and swapping your weapon enough to keep Enhanced Weapon activated. You should be swapping very often to pistol for mobility.

That’s a pretty brief and simple explanation of how to play Deadeye. There’s a bit more nuance to it but that’s the gist of it.
