While playing I noticed that in the currency area of the UI, the honing shards which are located right under roster bound currency are all character bound. However, the pirate coin which are in the same sub-section are roster bind as well.
While I mind that these shards are character bind and not roster bind, I find the UI quite confusing and predatory for new player of the game. Since this HUD is mostly use for roster bound things such as gold,silvers,pirate coins…etc etc this leads to a lot of confusion.
While the best in my opinion is that these specific shards are account wide and to keep the remaining honing requirement character bind since they are “Physical” items. Another viable solution would be to place them in a specific subsection that warns player of their character binds implication.
This is a simple feedback and I know currently there is much more important things to worry about!
I just discovered it the hard way by using almost 50k shards on my alt thinking it was account bound. It should at least be set in a different category, or be account wide
I’ll let you know when I find a use for my 90k on my main because I made the same mistake. Because the game never tells you they are character bound. I’m down to one roll a day on the alt I am pushing to T2 due to shards.
I really hope there is something they can do, I only played with one character until now and I have 108k useless harmony shards on it… just assumed since they are currency they would be account-wide, but nope. IMO the UI is misleading there.
Maybe remove the currency from the characters, and give people the same amount in pouches?
This also confused me. The game should make it more clear. There also should be some way to trade up currency in-game. I don’t care if it’s an abysmal rate like 100-1, it’s better than nothing.
Indeed, as mentioned in my original post, I think just a better placement of the harmony shard would make it so much easier to notice that issue. Since they are right underneath pirate coin which ARE roster bound.
I’ll give them the benefice of the doubt that it’s not willing predatory design but simply a silly mistake!
Agree! A “Character Bound” tab in the currencies would clarify a lot, to separate them from all other currencies. As to why it is character bound, my best guess would be that it makes it the honing currency that is hardest to stockpile. So it’s like a bottleneck when creating a new character to not just boost them to max immediately. Good or bad idk. But at least a way to trade up shards to higher tiers would be appreciated.
Another in this trap. Just got an alt up to Vern after getting my main to Punika >< I have 200k shards for both T1 and T2 locked up on my main and my alt has NOTHING from rewards and won’t be getting any.
