As much as I want to play other classes like Artist, Amazon / Smilegate will not release other classes soon because there is no income benefit in doing that.
Will they do this for us to gain our trust and love in the long run? Of course not, we are not in Korea where Smilegate cares. We are under Amazon here and how do you think Amazon got so rich? By caring about money…
So long story short, expect us to have a way worse version of Lost Ark because here, money primes. Whales are important and we do not matter.
We ask for more classes, we are ignored.
We ask for a roadmap, we are ignored.
We ask for better/more honing material sources, we are ignored.
We ask for up to date content, we are ignored by releasing Argos when only whales can play it.
Ofcourse there is income benefit releasing the classes lol, myself and most of my friends included wont play/pay until the classes we wanna play is released. And i know theres alot of people feeling the same way. So esentially they are losing money not releasing the classes people wanna play. No one is going to spend months/years on classes they DONT want to play.
Let’s be honest, I don’t know what are you expecting from them in the first month, they hardly have the game playable by now (bug fixes, queues, servers capacity, etc).
You are like a child that wants to have everything immediately, and I’m not defending them because I think their support for the players it’s been awful, but it’s hard to see you guys complaining about not having skins, new classes, or the roadmap now, I mean, are you a child? How old are you? 12? Because it seems you are.
Please, before doing these types of claims, think before.
The community has mostly been vocal about these things for less than a week, it will take longer than that to change plans in a game like this, and they need a bit of time to try to do it right, as much as the amazon hate train is strong right now you are really rushing to conclusions.
Just wait ! I know me too i don’t believe at all for some slight different reasons.
( We still are under SG tho… ) It’s a business not a loving careday company both SHOULD care about money, “free to play” is just a nice title to put to attract money.
Just wait that damn R O A D M A P, i’m saying that because they better not F up this roadmap.
If it was up before the release of Lost Ark or simply few days/weeks after the release even with what we have been able to see with the leaked one… It still would be far better than now, because of players frustration/anger.
More time they take to release it more the expectation will be high, they have to compromise, nobody wait a leaked roadmap to be worse than the new one… And you know what will happen : ) : Deception.
Sadly, i don’t think they will take the “cater” way <= (in a realistic manner) but the “greedy greedy” way which is in the long road less efficient. God, the community should not put to death our poor CM When they release it. That’s my “half” take on that, i hope to be wrong.
before they release more content they can screw up, lets see if they can get the clocks/alarms fixed… baby steps… but not much faith in them. I mean, I know there was no warning for daylight savings, or like its not a thing that has happened every year since 1908… so they probably werent prepared. Poor guys.
The entire game is catered to casuals not Sweats Most of the content done on main + Alts takes a few hours most casuals will do that because that’s all they have time for they would then repeat that every day pretty much anyone with more then 5hours to spare gaming will be stuck at the wall. This is what happens when games cater to those people.
Everything else aside…Amazon absolutely earned every iota of hatred with their amazingly inept handling of everything. (and I mean Amazon Games Studio, not the packaging Amazon which also has a looooooooooot of issues when it comes to human rights and whatnot)
Their track record is honestly nigh unbelievably bad. They cancelled just about every single game they were meant to release, released one truly awful racing game which they took offline almost immediately because it was so horribly bad, cancelled some more projects ppl were really hyped about (new Lotr game), released New World in a state that can hardly be called alpha with so many crazy stupid bugs and exploits that you really have to wonder if they have ANY quality control and the less said about their asinine decisions the better.
When New World was well and truly milked / dead they finally release Lost Ark (and don’t give me that “we had to translate some more stuff” because they clearly invested no time whatsoever in the translations and outsourced them to some google translate studio that basically has no idea what Korean even is).
And on release of Lost Ark they once again prove that they are just not up to the task of game releases. So many of the issues we had were basically identical to the learnings they should have gotten from New World but obviously nothing is ever as easy. I grant them most of the server issues since MMO releases have always been a circus (which begs the point why nobody ever learns but they’re in good company there I guess) but everything else is just truly AGS’s ineptitude.
The only hard working ppl I’ve seen so far are the Forum Masters (or whatever they’re called), answering questions, trying to calm the storm but whoever is making decisions at AGS is simply not good enough - or more cynically spoken, they clearly are about profit maximization and don’t give one whit if the product is being destroyed in the process, they’ll find something else to publish, make a quick buck and move on.
Look at how Smilegate in Korea operates and how AGS operates. It’s mind boggling that Gold River and his crew even allow this insanity to keep going on like this. Sure the game is a massive success by most metrics but imagine if you had an actual competent publisher behind this game, you’d have the biggest game since WoW classic in the West. If only they were about long term profits and making good games but clearly, AGS is neither of those things currently.
I’m with ya though in wanting ma classes. Screw all this rushing nonsense, there aren’t even fun excuses anymore for lack of classes.
