How didn’t we do any simple research if the things we are asking for are the things in the game in other regions?
This is one of the better honing systems in the market atm.
Pity systems, rates are decent enough and you can farm to achieve 1370.
People who didnt make it to 1370 for Argos week 1 are people who are mad cause they didnt manage to be smart about it.
Most people got thirsty for the gold, sold all their mats, parked their characters at 1340 and invested into alts. They got baited by all the streamers and youtubers telling them to make alts and sell. In return, the streamers would buy mats at a cheaper price.
Hopefully in the future, people will learn to think for themself.

THEN :

Just… WHY ???
Why 100% +6 and then 60% to +7 ???!!!
Sounds like you want to play a Korean MMORPG with anything saying “Korean” removed from your game experience.
It’s like in a relationship. If you don’t like how the other party is, you can’t expect them to change and cater to all your likes, because that’s not who they are ??? You’re just not meant to be together, no matter how much you like them on the outside.
It’s worse after +11. Max of 30% even with the increase items. That’s still easily doable cause of the increase items.
Might as well quote myself here as well
The issue is that the exact same game has a better honing system in other regions and has had it for years.
100% in T1 and T2? Let’s just not play any part of the game and go straight to end game right? In the West people are use to too many trophies being given out for every little thing that they did to make them feel special. The game was release in KR first. A 100% in T1 and T2 is un called for with the stronghold research already. T3 changes I’m not against, though not that high
To add to this, this wouldn’t even be nearly as big of an issue relating to t3 if they didn’t drop argos a month after release with so many things missing for progession.
Honing in itself is fine, the issue is that we have a faction of the sources to actually get said materials, making it a pretty uphill slog, anyone whos new isnt going to be terribly efficient and will make mistakes that will cost them mats, be it rerolling, opening too many mats boxes(binding them to that character etc), which then compounds the issues leading to more frustration or players just simply leaving. The fomo created by the community is also massive, ive had friends quit because they just felt so pressured to reach endgame.
Realistically the honing rates dont need to go up, or else it can trivialize the actual journey and time spend ingame, we just need those additional sources ASAP. Imo, as someone whos played other versions, the priority should be events, new classes, with expedited new sources of materials(bridge, pvp vendor, weekly guardians etc), that will vastly improve the experience of most players, then you can drop the future raid content intermittently in between as people will be farther into t2-t3.
:tldr it wouldnt be so crushing to fail if we had all the sources of materials available, focus on that, character releases, events, in between boss/raid drops.
@Shadow_Fox The current system is already creating a huge rift in my guild. People want to push ASAP to start enjoying Argos but can’t because honing is low and people only get a couple tries per day. Others are holding off due to the potential of honing changes because they know how scarce resources are and don’t want to waste them and feel forced to swipe to make up for it. You teased and hyped up the Argos release and then dropped it with little warning to a playerbase that can’t access it.
This is creating a combative environment where some players are at odds with each other. This type of time gating is not normal in the west and from the statements of various Korean players, this type of gatekeeping of content doesn’t exist for them either. When new content releases, it’s available to everyone yet for us, we have 99 percent of the playerbase who can’t get in while others make massive profits because they were lucky and/or willing to spend. This is psychologically very unhealthy for inter-player relationships.
To peel back the onion even further, you have plenty of outcry to get new classes in the game so that people can invest in a character they actually care about. We’re currently flying completely blind about how and when things will be released so planning ahead is pure speculation, which muddies the water even further.
We are getting an aggressive content release schedule, which is fine if you aggressively accelerate the players themselves as well. Otherwise, what’s the point? The honing changes combined with the adding the other sources of mats alleviates this issue, we can’t have scarcity of resources combined with a wealth of content gated by those very resources - it is extremely unhealthy.
If the goal is to catch-up to KR, then the players needs to be brought along for the ride. If the goal is to keep pace, then content needs to be rolled out slower. You can’t accelerate one and not the other.
You need to think about and include the majority of your playerbase to make long-term profits and maintain longevity in your game. The game will not survive with whales alone, they will have no one to buy from. It just feels as though short term profits are being prioritized over long-term sustainability.
Please consider making these changes sooner rather than later as frustrations are already building and Argos has been out for two days.
How is 100% in T1 and T2 equivalent to “In the West people are use to too many trophies being given out for every little thing that they did to make them feel special.” While the KR has you start at T3? I don’t get how asking for the rates Korean’s and Russian’s have is equal to a participation trophy to you…
Exactly they should have released new characters and the content that allowed people in Korea to get more mats to even make it to Argos. Argos should have came in May or something.
I think t1-t2 is fine the way it is. Takes like a week for t1 and a week and a half for t2. You get boosted rates for alts via stronghold. T3 is where the problem is though, adding the missing vendors would also help the lower tiers though.
I’m a mere T2 player here, but a nice quality of life update would be changing the character-bound mats to be roster-bound, so that even if they are untradeable (which is understandable) I can still use them on my alts. Accidentally opening too many chests and micromanaging the number of shards on each character is just annoying.
Yea they should have either pushed back argos or released those missing vendors etc from the start, either would have been fine but they screwed up.
No, but you’re comparing endgame content they’ve just gotten after two years to what we have after one month. And clearly as I say they are releasing content in random order, nerfing content and giving us catch up quests right away.
You’ll get to do Argos, you don’t have to do be able to do it right now. Again, you’re playing it like a speedrun, the koreans never did.
You can’t go guessing on what killed the game in Korea, lol
Hello.
Just copy paste over the cost reductions that are currently present in the Korean servers. I think that should work just fine. Oh, and if you guys can, bring the additional content such as Challenge Guardians and Challenge Abyss Raid. That should help with honing.
yes, I feel like I’m playing the demo of the game and I’m playing between 1350 and 1370 because of the honing system, I haven’t been in the game for 3 days (454 hours playing time)
Success rates in T3 are too low to get from 1325-1340 and 1340-1370 compared to the amount of resources you can get from dailies/weeklies
