Just like all tools context maters. Anyone who uses a DPS meter will know very clearly what an expected level of DPS is for a class/ilvl/quality/gems etc. It’s VERY obvious when someone who has no idea what they are doing is in the party with a meter.
At the same time anyone who says that “it’s alright as long as you aren’t toxic” is wrong. Just because AGS doesn’t actively ban the usage of the meter doesn’t mean we aren’t effectively playing with fire by using it. At any point their policy on the meter can change and they can ban everyone who uses it. The developers have made it very clear that the intent of the meter isn’t to avoid detection and there is always a risk to use it.
thats still a win win for me. l have no intention of playing games like this just to play for mvp screen and the clear. so l either get to play and progress towards my own personal goals or l eat a ban and don’t have to do dailies again. not my loss
The meter itself is against ToS. The (then) director Gold River made it a point of emphasis to publicly shame the use of it and endorsed action against it. It has been brought up and confirmed a bannable offense at times by CMs here as well. Of all the things the director could choose to publicly be against, this was probably the worst one.
Yeah so far anyone whos been banned for using it has been banned by people who have reported others word of mouth in KR. Those guys were typically caught on stream.
they may not allow the use of dps meter. but everyone that knows what a good dps meter does knows how useful it is of a tool. and for players saying that it will encourage toxic behavior. I’m gonna say it will lessen it.
It’s more accurate to say that so far there are no reported bans from the use of the dps meter in NA. The official stance is that it’s not allowed but EAC can detect it and they haven’t done anything about it
You can infer what you want from that information but understand that at any point they can start banning people.

a minute is a 12.5% dps loss in a 9 minute fight yet for some reason people outside are doing 1mil dps. you really think their characters are only capable of doing 1,125,000? nah, they’re just shit and blaming the mech
The VM workaround was because EAC was disconnecting people for it but not banning. There was a further workaround from the new devs to allow it to run around EAC but the general consensus is that EAC can still see it. The current meter can run on the PC without a VM.
I think a streamer called Legalia got a warning some days ago for cheating and most likely is regarding DPS meter, even if he never records using it. It’s the only think he uses that could trigger the ban warning (3 days). He only said that he contacted support and he got unbanned. Might be an error, but who knows. Worth thinking of it wasn’t a coincidence.
killing the head gives a significant amount of sidereal gauge on top of staggering prokel inside making life for your prokeller significantly easier but sure, “no reason”
having an outside that actually staggers for you vs a whole group of bots that run around with their dicks in their hands for a few minutes is a night and day difference
assumptions on top of assumptions. pretty much every single thing other than chat abuse gets a cheating ban
I love the MVP screen because the toxicity occur AFTER the raid or encounter. I dont like DPS meter during in game like in wow because ppl will call you out DURING the encounter which will make the raid toxic. It will also detract mech, proper positions and make ppl single mindedly focus on big numbers. Supports will also have a miserable time.
Doesnt make sense stoking the ego of 1 person and the rest in agony. But in hindsight in WoW I dont have any issues with it. Maybe when I raid or dungeon in WoW is with ppl I know.

ironic seeing how the big number enjoyers are the types of players to want to identify their mistakes and correct them early while the people that don’t give a shit and walk around the fight doing nothing are the ones that are dead all the time
