How do alts work?

I have seen a bunch of guides talking about how to use alts to do chaos dungeon/una/dailies and then send the mats to your main but the mats are all character bound?

I have 7 toons but barely get any tradeable or roster mats per day.

Did they change them to become character bound since the guides where created? (since not many new guides are being created for this game) Or am I doing something wrong?

red/blue stones are tradable. also leapstones from guardian raid, silver. gold rewards from raids.

Basically this. I let mine get to full rested then send it.

Nice, half of my guys are working out of rested. luckily I want to level them all up so most of the mats not being tradeable isn’t that huge of a deal. Would be nice to funnel leap stones though.
