I like some of you guys’ posts but what the f do you know about addiction? -Kanye West
P/s: people with addiction don’t even know they have addiction. Everyone can say they are not addictive, not drunk, not high, etc… But the only way to test this out is to stop playing and see how your brain functions without the game. The decision is up to you of course
Then that’s fine if it isn’t consuming your life and you enjoy it - that’s what entertainment should be. I was replying to your question on how others quit and flush their progress. Progress in this game is irrelevant to your life - that’s how people can quit so easily. If it stops being fun, it’s time to quit.
I’ve been playing the game like 6-8 hours a day since launch and got burned out with so many alts and trying to meet the ‘meta’. So now I just log a couple of days a week for 1 or 2 hours to do some horizontal content and just have some fun, because honestly what burns you out it’s to keep that constant pace everyday of playing so many alts and repeating everything over and over, it sucks.
You make no sense. You say you can easily quit if needed, in the same post you are saying you dont know how people quit so easy. Well, it seems you already know how, by the sheer power of will. You say you will quit if it affects your personal life, some people dont need to wait for that to happen. If something you do causes you pain or stress or you hate doing it or some parts of it, normal people will just quit. I prefer whiners who just quit and take their negativity with them, and let us the people who like the game just enjoy it, but they are usually drama queens who come to the forum to threaten quitting because their main class that they have never played hasn’t been released yet or tell the publishers/developers how to do their job, (I assume) based on their own 20 years experience of game publishing/developing experience
You just stop, if you don’t find the game fun anymore why the hell play it? There is tons of new games to play, there is tons of old games to return and play. There is old mmos that keep releasing content.
You don’t need to be held hostage by it. I’m pumped for Darktide for example, September gonna kill Nurgle Cultists
A whole lot of people shout around they are quitting the game to put pressure on AGS about whatever their grievance is, while in reality, they aren’t quitting at all.
I have quit because i’m not willing to wait over half a year for one of my classes to appear.
I’m still monitoring if they change anything in the upcomming month or two - if not there’s a new game releasing in August and I will be out.
It took me 12years of playing EQ to finally stop playing my paladin. I invested a lot of time, money and excitement (getting soulfire, breaking into planes for the first time, having a GM appear in a cloud of smoke and brimestone to give you your last name) into that game and it was extremely hard to stop playing.
The feeling of attachment to your character just isn’t there anymore. Marvel Heroes Omega was another game i was feeling attached to but they lost their license and nothing has come close since.
You do realize AGS following what Smilegate tells them. I am happy with amazon but not happy with Smilegate.
I don’t think hey planned this launched good enough. It’s all a mass. It’s like they don’t care at all. They still do a lot of money with using minimum resources so why change that right ?
They are not gonna change unless majority of players leave the game for good.
Dont expect anything to change for the better. It looks like it’s going to keep going like this. Because people complain but still plays the game.
I already quit lost ark before when i figured how much of a pain in the ass t1/t2 guardian were. I am playing again for a while now since they changed a few things back then.
I am however not even remotely as connected to the game and my characters than i was with wow. Guilds are shallow, one char is just one of many and raid content is very short lived.
It really wouldnt be hard in any way for me to quit the game once another one claims my attention
What are you investing in? Numbers go up, numbers go down.
Which game you watch the numbers in can change, but in the end you’re looking to occupy your time with some type of content. Once you’ve cycled through a few generations of content you’ve abandoned more games than you’ll likely ever play again.
i quit after 1400 hours 2 months ago , game is too repetitive and amazon updates were bad, i wanted to main scouter but I wasn’t going to wait 1 year just for the whims of amazon, i just lost interest
Very easy to quit a game that doesn’t respect your time when you make it to positions in life where you can start to dictate for yourself how much your time is worth.
The fun factor. A week ago I realized I was already dreading the reset, facing off with rng and the idea of going through all my alts again for a measly 5% chance at honing. It was so easy to rid myself fm the game.
The rest system doesn’t matter. Many people end up weighing not being able to enter the day to make chaos, daily, guardians.
If it’s not that. It’s people for a while and then it weighs on them for having stayed so far behind.
Is it lawful that having a +1500 team there are people still headbutting with the +11 team in 1395? Or the low level islands that do not give usable material and still do not drop the island token. Even reputations are only meant for someone who started a long time ago.
