How safe is it to buy lvl 9 or 10 gems atm?

Except there are many people with alt forum accounts so you are disproven right away

Edit. Also forgot that a thread can be anywhere including in reddit or on a rmt discords/sites with messaging.

On Reddit, you’re not allowed to discuss bans so it’ll more or less never show up there, on RMT discord/sites, never been on them so no idea I couldn’t tell you. Also, for an alt forum account, you need 2 phone numbers since 1 already got banned (I’m assuming, never tried the same one) so I’m sure that turns away a lot of people.

While I’m mentioning this, may as well as also mention they usually give RMTers a very short temp ban from what I’ve seen so you would have to trigger their system for something else I’m presuming for a longer ban.

I’ve bought some Level 10 damage gems and cool down haven’t sold any though and yes I did swipe to buy these gems by selling skins.

Level 10 damage gem is worth around $500 - $600 depending on your region.

I saved up enough level 7 gems to make a level 9, ended up selling them as level 7s instead of combining for a 9.

Thought about combining and selling but have seen enough people claiming they got falsely banned for RMT for selling high level gems that I came to the conclusion it’s not worth the risk for 3k-13k more gold.

buy? super safe :+1:

sell? it’s safe, but if an rmt buy your item you could get warned, your gold is taken away, and your gem will not be refunded. Worse case scenario your account gonna get banned because you accept rmt gold

Never heard issues from the buyer themselves. However, I have a friend who plays alot, he sold a lvl9 damage gem for 100k+ I believe. He received a warning after a 1-2 days + the gold earned from the gem was removed.

I really hope AGS brings it up with Smilegate and talk about this openly with the community. It appears to be an ongoing issue without any real solution for it.

Only 100k+? That’s within market price lol. That’s absurd.

Yeah, it was market value. This was only 2 weeks back or so.
Oh and for reference, it was on EU Central region.

Why would it be not safe? If you don’t rmt you have nothing to worry about.

It is a serious problem. But one that is happening to so few people that they can just deny that it is even happening. I would still say your odds of being banned are virtually 0. But if you are unlucky enough to be hit by this you will lose the gold and the item you sold and no one at AGS support will be able to return either to you.

@Shadow_Fox said she was going to bring it up at a weekly meeting.

That was the last we heard of it from them. I was hoping that it would at least reduce the frequency of it happening to people if they became more aware of it. But there have been like 3 additional cases that showed up on the forums since that meeting was supposed to take place.

Another one from earlier tonight :cold_sweat:

Did they change the punishment to a first time warning and take away gold rather than an instant perma ban? Or has it always been this way?

afaik the punishment for confirmed RMT is still 1 month suspension per 100k detected. As far as this “warning” thing goes it does seem to be a recent development. It is possible they are applying that across the board to any RMT. But I feel like this is probably something exclusive to the AH as every single case has the same story. Sold a high value item. Few hours/days later gold is removed. Sometimes a warning is issued and sometimes they just login to find the gold missing from their account.

9 times out of 10 only an RMTer is buying multiple 700K, 800K, 900K dmg gems…

it is better to hold onto gems anyway, because they are a store of value that you can even use on your character

First, AGS/SG can’t explain in detail how their system works. Such description would be used againts the system.

The only claims people have made how buying have resulted in any action againts them, was way early with claims that buying founders skins got them banned due to chargebacks made by the original owner of the item. These claims were argued againts later though, but I can’t remember the actual outcome. Plus fundementally everything is just words here.

People want “proof” but exactly what proof is there on a forum. Calling shit you believe as proof isn’t really any proof.

Yes, this would cover the automatic part.

However, once they identify an RMT player, what’s the logic of going after some of the players the RMT player brought stuff from the market?

Do you recognize it would be rather weird to do so? RMT players just buy shit out from market and AH just like everyone else. The sellers have nothing to do with RMT and the RMT player, so why are they targetted?

it’s ok to buy , it’s a problem to the one who sell

I have seen a few post like this and did not really think to much about them, since I have never sold anything even close to those numbers. But what do you know Wens I got a necklace 93%Q, crit, spec with +5 legacy +3 (some other skill). Looked in the AH and there were 10+ like mine from 200k to 500k. I took a screenshot of it, noted the time and place I got it, and screenshot a few other in the AH like mine. I did sell it and if they want to ban me with all the info I can show them, well then Ill just move on. Why would I want to keep playing if that could happen again? It would suck getting ban… but it also sucks just keeping that on an alt when that gold could improve all my other guys.

Buying and selling them is fine. It’s just that those who kept gambling with them ended up buying multiple RMT gems and selling them to RMTers along the way, getting tangled up in that. If you just simply don’t gamble but buy or sell gems like a casual Kevin would, you’re completely fine
