How the info leading up to patch notes should have been shared

I mean didn’t they say exactly that?

It’s the context of what the forum is asking between the roadmap and the patch that needs to be addressed.

For the record I am not attacking any CM’s… they in are in the worst position when it comes to product managers and liaison’s between companies.

I understand the thought behind your request, but you are asking for the information that is shared in the patch notes to be shared prior to the release of the patch notes. We cannot share this information before we have it. There aren’t times where we are purposely withholding details to ignore player questions; when there are chances for us to provide additional insight or information we always do, but this isn’t always possible.

I get it, trust me. I also want those updates. But they said what was coming with the patch, and I’m sure Amazon literally cannot share anymore information than what they are told to share. What’s a CM going to do? Lose their job so they can confirm things aren’t coming in a patch that wasn’t mentioned as a key point in a roadmap. (Which you’d think Tri-pods/PvE Balance would be a key point).

People just saw it on KR. Saw we had gotten a balance patch shortly after KR, and assumed we’d get it.

And btw, in my experience in GD, that old balance patch we did get, probably was already expected to come with the patch we got it in, and was added to our patch around the same time KR got theirs. Could they have added the Tri-pods/Balance this one? Sure, but SM probably already knows when they want to add it.

Here is a really bad breakdown of what the perception is…

The problem in perception is the huge part of the forums STILL believe Amazon develops this game.

Oh they also are convinced the CMs can unban at will, are witholding information, ignore their “valuable” feedback and are banning them from the forums for being some type of imaginary martyrs.

Problem is mostly AGS <=> SGR communication. It’s clear AGS gets their stuff the same day the patch must go live.

What I don’t get is why all the secrecy, all the content has already need released. Why does no one know what’s coming when it’s already been released. I’m sure a lot of people were thinking we’d get tripod changes this week. Instead of the cliff hangers with some UI changes can’t really call it a patch…

People thinking that we wouldve gotten the tripod changes were wrong it was written in the roadmap what we should expect from this patch.

Is there any chance that bug fixes on class skills / tripods and such can be included in with the class changes or we could categorize the fixes themselves so we aren’t seeing somewhat major fixes like tripods not working at all such as Berserker’s leap being next to a graphical fix for a random set of stairs in Luterra? Maybe its just my personal OCD for organizing such things but I feel as if the fixes themselves could have been formatted a bit better so it wasn’t just a text wall of bullet points.

There is no secrecy, they don’t have the information because they are not the developer. SG makes the decisions, and probably only gives the information over on patch day. People thinking they are going to get a change are delusional because they have no information on it in the first place. This patch is actually fantastic. It addresses a lot of smaller problems in the game, and the biggest change is to GvG where Betrayal set is no longer mandatory for entry and doesn’t stun lock people into oblivion. It is a huge change.

You know, people making up their mind about a patch and then being disappointed about said patch, when everything was laid out in the roadmap… kinda stupid if you ask me.

June - July roadmap

Since launch, we’ve promised to be as transparent as we can with the Lost Ark community around the world. With changes to Lost Ark impacting moment-to-moment gameplay and a variety of game systems that players engage with every day, we fully understand the importance of clearly communicating those changes as specifically as possible. We wanted to acknowledge frustrations in the community and ensure that it’s an ongoing area of conversation between our teams and a focus of ours to improve. Our goal is to always clearly communicate changes, but on both the April and May updates we’ve fallen a little short.

Yes but you guys are frustrated over everything and you do little research, are missinformed and you come here ready to start a fight.

Amazon has mentioned countless of times that they cannot know things beforehand if Smilegate has not let them know about it and it’s approved.

They have already stated that the Tripod/Balance class changes won’t be coming in this patch! if that was the case we would have been informed about it before hand. They also stated that this patch would be a QoL and bug fixes patch.

It is impossible to anyone working in the industry, to think that developers don’t know what will be included in their next release. Do they not have a version control system or producers and production tracker tool?

The problem here is that they most likely don’t communicate with you guys - which is a “you” problem not players problem - you need to solve that as publisher and not be looking for excuses.

The patchnote should have been shared AFTER the QA finished his job (if you have a QA)

You probably shouldn’t go around forums saying things like this if you don’t want people to start thinking there is more to it than what it actually is. You’re the one here who misguided almost everyone…

Its smilegate…
So this wont happen

Its simply not possible to have a healthy work flow if you get all the info and the patch itself for testing only a few hours before its release.

You need to work out with SG a better schedule.

Actually, I really want you to know, that the majority of people in this game does NOT think/talk like the forum people.

The entitlement of the playerbase especially in the forum can never be satisfied.
It doesn’t matter what you do and how you do it, it will ALWAYS be wrong.

AGS is getting trash talked all the time for problems they barely can fix. Its not AGS fault that the Patchnotes looks like they look.
Its not AGS fault if they don’t get the information WHEN we get the Tripot change.
its not AGS fault that we get classes in 2 month schedule.
Its not AGS fault if we have to pay much for blue Crystals and how this game gets monetizate.

The only thing that is AGS fault is the communication about stuff.
There were some things, even I were upset (f.E. saying that the founder packs are non-tradeable, while they actually were.). But in the end, AGS is just doing its job as a publisher.

If Server doesn’t work or informations gets mislead = AGS fault.
Everything else = Smilegates fault.
And if people are not able to read patchnotes/informations/things = Players fault.
