This is an auction house/player trade system. You’re listing X Royal Crystals, at a cost to you of Y regular crystals, and a player can buy it for Z gold. It will just sit there until a player chooses to buy it, like any other item listed.
What bv728 says is correct. You press F4 and go to currency exchange down the bottom right corner and click on the gold tab. The max you can buy is 455g per transaction and it’ll cost you 238 royal crystals. Problem atm is everyone is sitting on a shitload of royal crystals and wanting gold so there’s an exorbitant amount of buy orders that are just going to sit there until expiration.
I have no idea why the AH is so needlessly convoluted tbh.
I have something I want to buy for 300 gold, I now have to sell gold for crystals to buy pheon so that I can buy the item for the 300 gold I already had and was willing to buy the item for.
God forbid I want to buy gold to do it, because then I’d have to buy orange crystals with dollars, to sell for gold, to sell for purple crystals to buy pheon so that I can buy the 300 gold item for 300 gold.
Yeah, I don’t care if this is how the system is in the other regions. It’s dumb as hell. It’s intentionally convoluted (not to mention the ratios of exchange are odd numbers) just to make you buy more. I understand wanting people to buy the currency, but there is no need to have so many and these exchanges.
This is and was my biggest fear … spend one of the multiplier versions of currency to get a different kind of currency to by the one I need and in each transfer a fee/use of another currency…… exchanged rates will fluctuate…… I mean wall st is less confusing than this !!! And I don’t play the market
I can empathize trying to decide if I should buy a skin with Royal crystals or blue crystals.
I’m looking at the skin for sale. $9.99 per 1000 royal crystals. The skin is 2000 royal crystals so $19.99 for the skin. Straight forward.
But the skin can also be bought for 840 blue crystals. With the 238 conversion means that 420 blue crystals is also $9.99.
But what if I can sell gold for blue crystals? This is where I get lost. Trying to figure out the ‘Currency Exchange’ window and how it works isn’t dumbed down enough for me to be honest. Cause yes I feel dumb looking at this for the first time.
I read every word of this thread and still don’t understand. I’m sure I’ll catch on with time but I do agree that it is confusing. I’m sure PoE players are having an easy time with this, though.
So taking the above screenshot from left to right.
What you are selling - purple sell crystals
What you are getting - sale price gold 350
What the buyer gets - amount of crystals 100 purple crystals
What it will cost you to list the auction, what you are selling in exchange for 350 gold - cost 238 orange crystals
Time left before the auction expires - 36h
The crystal conversion is done by the AH. You are selling orange crystals for gold, the middle “amount of crystals” is for the buyer not you as the seller
Lost ark has 3 "main" currencies that work over all others.
Gold - Earned in game by playing the game only. This currency, is only given for playing the “Free to play content” meaning that everything in the game will in some way lead to, or begin from this one currency.
Crystals - These Crystals are the currency used to pay for cosmic transactions, VIP Status, boost and cut time down on how much you need to play the game at the “free to play” experience. These can only be obtained from special quest or things in game or buy using gold.
You can’t directly purchasecrystals with real money in game !
Royal Crystals - These Crystals are used for exclusive " supporters " to buy packs that give you BONUS crystals once you finish a quest or raid tier.
They are also used to buy gold with. This is the biggest thing for these coins because if you buy these you can turn them into gold, and them use that gold for market place items and mats or you can buy crystals with them to buy things in the crystal shop.
With all of these things being said, I hope these will atleast let some of you understand that while yes you can pay to buy gold and a few other things with ROYAL CRYSTALS but, you can only buy gold if there are players willing to sell their gold.
If you take a moment to read these packs that you can buy, you will find out there there is only one pack that you can buy each month for crystals without doing work in game.
Honestly i think this system is really good, yes its strange but without all of these coins then the market could be deflated by gold farming. and none of this would work.
If it was as simple as World of Warcraft then the price of crystals would go up by the 1000’s hourly because of the gold farming.
