This is still correct, the normal in game name ruling still apply when attempting to do this

Youre my hero. I contacted support about this very idea and they told me it wouldnt work so i just deleted the character and resigned to my fate for 60 days. Then i saw this, and thankfully support was able to recover the character for me and I got the name swapped over.

Hello friend so you deleted your character and name was unavailable? i though was reserved 60 days for that account.
Not quite friend, When you delete your character the AMAZON SERVER holds the name for 60 days on it’s end and the name is unable to be chosen on ANY account. (thus the reddit posts of people being like 'I deleted kirito, naruto (insert other pop culture name here) give me more suggestions" threads we saw on reddit and other boards.
Does this trick still work? support tells me it shouldnt work and they seem pretty sure about it
Yes, it still works. I just changed my 50 character name and create a new one with the name of the old one.
Support tells me it shouldnt work too, but it seems that they are wrong.

thx for this dude. they should at least raise the lvl bar to 15 atleast so u can get a feel for the char but no they are dumb. did the mistake and not waiting for friends to get home/online to know which server they were on so i started on a random server used my normal name and played for a maximum of 1 hour then when they got home i was fucked but now i know how to fix it though hopefully they dont ‘‘fix’’ this

As of yesterday this still works (had a friend rename their gunslinger) However they can patch this at any moments notice

Happy to help <3 I really hope they leave this ‘unfixed’ idk why they would though they get $15 every time someone has to do this, so it seems a little silly for htem to fix something that would make them money, however this comes with an important note for everyone

Renamed old character
Made new character and named her old name i had.
Bumping this. It works.
I switched servers for a friend of mine and used my main name on the old one.
I just renamed my old character to something random and was able to use my main on the new server!
