Yes. It’s inevitable and is the ultimate goal. I had a friend like this, I just don’t bother anymore. They are permanently gone until blizzard shuts the game down for good.
Remind him that TBC classic is more pay-to-win than lost ark. That game is nothing more than one giant bus terminal.

The way to deal with a friend like this, is to tell him (once) that just because you are friends doesn’t mean you like the same thing and everyone is entitled to play what they like. My boyfriend likes to pvp, I don’t but we accept that and go on. We do not try to make the other feel bad or criticize something the other may like.
Don’t stoop to his level of harassing him for his game choice. just cut him off. He’s obviously not putting effort into making this friendship worthwhile. Life is too short for you to have to put up with this bullshit.

What you asked here implies to me you’re not trying to help him at all. And what exactly do you mean by help him when he enjoys the game? Will you do to him exactly what he did to annoy you? If you can’t take this advice then it’s your choice to deal with a toxic friendship.
