I also just found out that there are cats you can hunt for meat in punika. They are pretty rare (they have purple name). I hunted one of them and it dropped world tree leaf… Surely it was just a coincidence but now I feel compelled to hunt all rare cats… and I dont like killing cats.
Changing their model to golden rabbit wouldn’t really be gamebreaking in my opinion.

reading this made me giggle. i have kittens irl 4 of them used to be 15 but i gave away 11. anyways i don’t see it in a bad way as they’re just game characters designed for leveling up the life skills. it’s not like i killed a cat irl or a bunny. it’s just a video game. i play GTA 5 online and i snipe player’s and use rockets and stuff and ofc it’ll end up with innocents getting killed in the middle of that. not saying you’re a snowflake or anything OP. just saying it’s a video game and it shouldn’t make you feel like you’ve done something bad.
I don’t recall killing any innocent humans sitting in their home having a cup of tea, so nice false equivalency.
I understand that there are people who are uncomfortable with this, but feral cats are an invasive and damaging pest species in several countries and need to be controlled. These aren’t your fluffy bow-tie kitties. They’ll shred your arm if you try to grab one. Do they deserve to die? No, but then again no living thing does.
Maybe having feral cats as hunting targets in-game might teach people to be responsible enough to desex their damn pets so this becomes less of an issue.
Personally I think having live octopus splayed out on a table ready to be carved up and fried at the Lailai festival is pretty gross considering they’re a particularly intelligent creature and many people from where I live would feel the same, but again, different cultures have different standards. Just because it makes me uncomfortable doesn’t mean I think it should be edited out of the game
I really don’t think the model should be changed. There is nothing graphic about the hunting animation, and it’s far less graphic than all the exploding bodies and meat paste left behind after combat in this game

In Fieton in addition to the bunnies is a squirrel looking critter that also spawns, you can’t kill the squirrel unless you have at least I think 20 in hunting.
There are actually 3 parties. The 3rd is people who don’t give a damn and would rather have more important things be addressed than throwing a pixel knife at a pixel cat.

sorry for the late reply, but i had to kill one bunny for the tutorial and yes i died inside as i have a bunny and she is a family member and i just cannot kill more bunnies lol… the way the rabbit fell to the ground as well was a horrible sighting for me, they are too dear to me.

I feel exactly the same, i can deal somehow with bunnies, in the end, i feel them like food (only a little), but with cats??
I just can’t hunt them, i don’t care their skins ingame, if it looks like a cat, i feel im murdering my loved dead cat, couldnt they have picked another animal? Are they in time to change it?
I dont know… pick a mice shape maybe? or birds? or foxes?
But something like a cat makes me die inside aswell (and a bit about bunnies aswell)

both of those are food for families in many parts of the world…
not everyone relates the same way to certain things, it is so simple. to tell others not to feel this or that way is just weird as an outsider or someone online won’t change what someone genuinely thinks and feels about an animal or anything honestly. i cannot accept this hunting stuff in Lost Ark, good for you that you can.
