Humans in most games do. GTA is equal to this case posted by OP, it’s disturbing for some when they are innocents. But think about the rest of the games, from Skyrim to Battlefield… they want to kill you first.
Glad we have you to figure out the ethics of killing people vs killing animals. I guess all the fps’s, movies, tv shows, etc just gotta go we’re all depraved and you guys are the ethical ones here. Save the pixel cats!
it’s pixels, get real and stop associating every action you do in game to real life, it’s a fantasy game and what you’re doing is something that is not happening in the real world with real consequences.
I’m pretty sure you don’t know yet, but here’s an interesting piece of info:
A huge chunk of the MMORPG playerbase wouldn’t touch a FPS game with a ten foot pole.
And either way, in most FPS games, there is an intent to kill you from the other party. Same about pretty much every single popular movie; I can’t recall of a single block buster title where the focus was around killing innocents (or that had any innocents being murdered by someone who isn’t a villain).
Oh wow I didn’t realize we had a statistician here who had the data to make such bold claims. Thanks for letting know this insightful information. Glad the peanut gallery can attempt to focus on one specific example and ignore the rest as if there’s only one type of FPS out there. It’s ok you can’t think, you made that abundantly clear.

I personally enjoy killing kittens.
The whole game is pixels. That’s a totally pointless argument. Don’t like that class? It’s just pixels, bro. Skin not good enough? It’s just pixels! Sorry friend, I’m not here playing a MUD. These ‘pixels’ are the reason we engage and enjoy online video games.
There’s one part I didn’t enjoy. I made a lighthearted topic on it. Some people feel some ways, you may not agree, but the ‘pixels’ reply isn’t quite the shut down you and everyone else thinks it is lol. I’m still enjoying the game, it’s just some feedback. Anyway, gonna log out of this pointless edgelord thread and enjoy my game!
you’ve been doing quests killing people in this game, might as well just be used as an argument too if that was your logic, why are you okay with killing people in game but not kittens?
Naw bro, it’s all context. It’s all fiction, yes, but within the world, there are things that are unnecessary and weird from a general/social point of view. FPS, Movies, etc are fine, but for example, if on Battlefield you had to kill a civilian or dog with a sniper from miles away, who are clearly not messing with you, it’s just… “WHY? WTF”
Also, those are hares, not bunnies like OP said. Hares need to be controled that’s why it’s allowed to hunt them even as a sport.
LMFAO yeah you can totally tell the difference between bunnies and hares in LOA. Sorry, your example didn’t invoke any kind of reaction. Just as meaningless as I’ve said before. Sorry games and real-life don’t overlap the way you’re trying to pass it off. It’s weird and unnecessary to be fighting, killing, and showing signs of disrespect on corpses and yet it’s rampant in video games and we all move along. This entire thing is just a minority of ill-adjusted individuals trying to make changes to avoid doing what most normal people do which is overcoming a hurdle rather than manufacturing a bubble.
These are 2-3 fragile people can you like not relay this as feedback as if it was a majority?
I also just found out that there are cats you can hunt for meat in punika. They are pretty rare (they have purple name). I hunted one of them and it dropped world tree leaf… Surely it was just a coincidence but now I feel compelled to hunt all rare cats… and I dont like killing cats.
Changing their model to golden rabbit wouldn’t really be gamebreaking in my opinion.
thank you!! i haven’t reached the cats yet but even hunting the bunnies makes me so sad
i can’t possibly go around killing innocent kitties ![]()
reading this made me giggle. i have kittens irl 4 of them used to be 15 but i gave away 11. anyways i don’t see it in a bad way as they’re just game characters designed for leveling up the life skills. it’s not like i killed a cat irl or a bunny. it’s just a video game. i play GTA 5 online and i snipe player’s and use rockets and stuff and ofc it’ll end up with innocents getting killed in the middle of that. not saying you’re a snowflake or anything OP. just saying it’s a video game and it shouldn’t make you feel like you’ve done something bad.
I don’t recall killing any innocent humans sitting in their home having a cup of tea, so nice false equivalency.
I understand that there are people who are uncomfortable with this, but feral cats are an invasive and damaging pest species in several countries and need to be controlled. These aren’t your fluffy bow-tie kitties. They’ll shred your arm if you try to grab one. Do they deserve to die? No, but then again no living thing does.
Maybe having feral cats as hunting targets in-game might teach people to be responsible enough to desex their damn pets so this becomes less of an issue.
Personally I think having live octopus splayed out on a table ready to be carved up and fried at the Lailai festival is pretty gross considering they’re a particularly intelligent creature and many people from where I live would feel the same, but again, different cultures have different standards. Just because it makes me uncomfortable doesn’t mean I think it should be edited out of the game
I really don’t think the model should be changed. There is nothing graphic about the hunting animation, and it’s far less graphic than all the exploding bodies and meat paste left behind after combat in this game
@Roxx @Seawolf @Shadow_Fox @Maselbart Anychance u could chase up the devs on this? I want to level hunting but i just cant kill cats for it
In Fieton in addition to the bunnies is a squirrel looking critter that also spawns, you can’t kill the squirrel unless you have at least I think 20 in hunting.
There are actually 3 parties. The 3rd is people who don’t give a damn and would rather have more important things be addressed than throwing a pixel knife at a pixel cat.
Wait those are cats? I thought they were racoons… what… have… i… been… doing…
