I can't help but feel depressed. The game's population is dropping pretty fast and Amazon/Smilegate aren't doing anything, at least not fast enough

400k players online, i think that 200k are bots.
from 1.3m legit players to 200k legit players.
but 200k players it’s very good for a mmo.

Don’t forget there’s a good portion went on play Elden Ring & a separate population decided rushing contents on MMORPG is such a great idea they rush rush rush rant rant rant then left.

Was this sarcasm?

How does making more alts to repeat the same content multiple times a day make the game less repetitive?

Is the suggestion that different classes change the fight so much it feels new and exciting and not like the same boss you just did on 3 of your other toons?

I have several alts and beside support vs dps, they aren’t different enough to repeat the same bosses multiple times and not think of it as a boring repetitive task.

Yes it was sarcasm.

Earlier in topic people mentioned that for keeping it fresh.

I appreciate the response and clarification. It’s hard for me to tell sometimes on these forums with so many people making similar “stuck at 1355, just push 6 alts into T3 and you’ll have so much fun” comments without the sarcasm.

Oh don’t worry! Nothing mean was said on either side. It is definitely confusing and a lot of it is my own fault. Half the time I forget to hit the reply button.

Ugh, I dislike that as well. I’m still confused they pushed out a tier 3 raid in what is a well known deadzone that everyone hated instead of better content for people that don’t just go around collecting mokokos (nothing personal, they are already there). Just seems like an odd bastardization of a now good game.

You forget that the privacy laws of some countries in Amazon’s region will prevent this from ever happening.

That’s why I said one method of verifying an accounts integrity of many. It doesn’t need to be the only way. I think for example, having a Steam account that has had any purchases on it as well could serve as a verification method. Looser methods like phone+email should be available, but perhaps take “longer” to open up features like mail/trade.

The whole point of this detterant is it should give the anti-bot system enough time to actually catch the botters before they have access to trading, since bots would still be able to do phone+email, but would add cost over head.

Their reasoning was an expectation that more people would be there, and I’m inclined to believe it given the forums during the alpha and beta were - to my knowledge - complaining the game was too easy. It was probably a legitimate oopsie, not intentionally malicious. That said, I also do want to see their future roadmap. That, more than anything, will prove if their apology was sincere.

Yar, I am not a full tinfoil hatter but I also see no reason to kowtow to a company. You should be nice to people not product. I’m staying optimistic though! I know its strange but this game tickles my old DFO roots. (which btw was a hot pile of mess over here even though it was/is wildly successful in the microtransactions)

I hope the new patch tomorrow helps and we get a road map soon too.

But I’m still really concerned how they messed up the argos release.

Didn’t smilegate have a bunch of data from Korea that showed that players hated being stuck in the 1340-1370 deadzone and a huge portion of them were ending up stuck there for months?

If so, why then would they repeat the same mistake?

And the other issue, why is content that is 1355 entry requirement in other regions locked to 1370 for us? Really hard to see this stuff and not think it’s malice and they are trying to get those whales to swipe for that 1370 push.

The best was our good Korean bros were upset about them making the same mistakes with us.

I will not forget SooYeung

This the part that always gets me, they had the data, could just follow the KR game, and then you ask yourself why did they do this, changing GS for content, i may be wrong, but the only thing that comes to my mind is money

Yea, they traded reputation that was earned from the other servers and threw it away for some quick money off of people who FOMO’d.

But there’s also plenty of gullible people who think apologies from multi millionare corporations/businesses are genuine and matter despite having data that shows what they were doing was going to be detrimental. So it’s whatever at this point

I garantuee you that most players didn’t do that. Most players are casuals and they rarely look up stuff and sit the whole day infront of the pc to figure stuff out about a game. I have quite a few of them as work collegues and friends.

I think your image of the average casual player is simply wrong. What you describe is already above the average gamer and we all know that the amount of players that have more than 1-2h a day to play games is only a small percentage of all players.

Sure, there are some who then research the game and want to play one certain class, but those are not half the players but maybe 2-3% who then leave.

Youre missing the point, imagine how many players would have stayed when they first came in and if they had the chance to try the awesome scouter, flashy lancemaster, shadow assasin reaper etc, they would be charmed by the game much enough not to leave.

Classes are really importnant in game, thats why league of legends has over 150+ champs and probably over 100m plays it a day, because everyone has something to play.

This is the most hillarious thing ive heard in a while. Websites like facebook, yahoo, and google already track you out the whazoo

Your “private” convos on facebook? Yeah sorry bro, daddy zuc reads them to his kids at night. Google? Sells your browsing information and plone number to advertisers. These are proven things. In the case of facebook they even admitted it saying it was for “security reasons” or something along those lines. If youre using the internet without a good VPN, nothing is “private” in any way, shape, or form. Its sad

Yes there would be a few more but it’s a small number that has little impact on the whole population. You would see mayb 10-50k more daily players now at most.

Also LoL as around 3.5m daily players. Lost Ark is probably looking at a similar number (or maybe even higher) right now.

I’m sure we will never know but it’s a business so undoubtedly earnings would have been a factor.

There used to be 30 people at illusion isle. Now I can afk and stay in 10th place
