Personally this is my solution for me:
My 1490,1477,1465,1460 are all staying 4x3 until next year. just gonna keep doing what i do every week, valtan, vykas, boss rush and sell gems (clown and brel thats a next year issue) to accumulate gold. so far i’m sitting on 445k gold and 7500 unas tokens

tf you don’t need 5x3 for alts LOL
4x3 is more then enough up to 1460, thats enough gold for alts currently, get good 4x3 and at least lvl 5 gem set and you’re alright. legendary accs are not cheap but plenty enough to get your invest back
4x3+1 is possible for all alts
Don’t know I equipped yesterday my 1370 scouter to 4x3+1 with including pheons 50k gold
He has now:
Grudge, Keen Blunt, Adrenaline and Barricade 3
and Class Engraving 1.
I did the same what is your class engraving acc? i couldnt buy a relic acc with class engraving, EUC all relic acc only spec with class+5 with random +3 engraving start at 40k gold so i just buyd one with crit xD. and stil got my raids done. now im try to snipe sometimes

Play 4 engravings for alts. +9 +9, 3/3 accessory and 6/6 stones are more than enough. Who told you, you absolutelly need 5x3 in this game?

Personally I would settle for 4x3+2 on my alts if they were different class than my main, but I only play one class so all my alts are 5x3 as well.
Is grudge/cursed doll even good for alts if your only doing the content that is your item level?
I thought grudge and cursed doll was when you were higher level than the raid you are doing?

4x3 is fine. If you really want a 5x3, it would be enough to search the market twice a day. You can compromise and have low quality on the ring (very little is lost) and a necklace with low quality, but as high as possible the statistics that you need.
you can go 5x3 with at least one legendary books easily on EUW. You say there is no items when in reality i am selling all possible mix items for half of the classess and no one buy them. Ofc if you chase high quality they are few and very expensive. About Arcana what you miss at the AH, when she use lvl 1 class engraving.

5x3 isn’t required and DEF not required on an alt thats being parked below 1490. Do note that MOST alts are NOT going past 1460 even in KR. If I’m not mistaken 1445 is the most common spot since you get access to the relic sets. 4x3 is simple to gear and more so with relic gear.

In euw there is much more supply than demand. This weekend I had a stroke of luck and thought hopefully it would sell for 40k. Quality 100, good engravings and perfect statistics.
Well, diving into the auction you see that there are hundreds of similar earrings, but the only thing that is sold for what does not exceed 7k, or what a rookie with class 5 engraving sells for 15k.
You can make 4x3 with legendary accessories. Cutting a 6/6 stone using a Relic cut is at least slighly less of a pain and legendary accessories are dirt cheap since everyone wants Relics anyway.
Yes, buying your class engraving is 200k gold. Just like anywhere else, it hurts but it’s a one time purchase. But, you don’t need Legendary books to 4x3.
1: 6/6 stone
2: Double Epic Engraving Books
3: Class engraving / 4th Engraving on legendary accessories. If you pick a 4th engraving here that isn’t super meta you can probably buy each accessory for under 1000g each.
Pheon is where you’ll really pay the price.
The true problem is the loot pool itself. It is such a polluted wasteland of garbage RNG with absolutely no smart loot, no way to self gear and endless trash engravings/stats. Deleting thousands of accessories each week and seeing maybe 1 worth even trying to sell is another major problem with the games design and gearing characters as well.
