the issue is EAC is having hiccups randomly its happening to apex as well as we speak , sometimes the thread between EAC and the game is not terminating so steam thinks its still running. its doing in and out atm and the only way to force close it when it happens is restarting PC
2 ways to end task from task manager is from the Process tab and Details tab. If one is not listed then look on the other tab. close EAC, Lost Ark and Steam.
Also having this issue - can’t seem to kill the process in task manager (“Access Deined”) and can’t stop the game using the “Stop” option in the steam client.
Lost Ark requires multiple restarts before the client actually closes. And I cannot launch the game again until the client closes.

edit: ok my game DID close after like 6-7 minutes. It took a while but it worked.

I believe it’s an issue with EAC, I play Apex which also uses EAC and the issue started to happen there too.
After the bugfix on lost ark on 12/01/2022 i had a continues crashes about ONLY with My Sorceress, when i cast a Igniter only on Chaos gate, i cast 2-3 Skill, and my game Close, and keep runing, same if i closes on cntrl+alt+del lost ark and force to close, if i close the steam, when i start it keep running, and only work if i restart my pc,

Ive been having the same issue, it’s consuming my ram and cpu and I can’t close on steam, neither stop running when I log on steam
did not work for me…
I finally got it to stop after an hour… kept just hit stop and closing steam… eventually it worked. took about an hour though

i had the same issue the other day but i tried this and (for the time being) fixed the problem…
- go to steam before launching the game, right click on lost ark on the left go to properties
- in general, launch options, added -useallavailablecores
- in local files, verify integrity of game files

I am having the same issue since the update. It says the game is running, but there is nothing in the task manager to close except EAC. Closing it does nothing. The only thing that gets it running is if I restart the computer. I have verified game files, all is fine, does not fix the problem. Please fix ASAP !
This happens to me, too. Sometimes I have to kill Lost Ark Client.
I don’t think the game files are corrupt, I’m pretty sure this is a bug since it has been there for multiple updates at this point.
