This wouldnt cause inflation tho, thronespire doesnt create money, just transfers money from buyer to seller etc
This is all true. The main difference between these things and Thronespire is how easy Thronespire is to fix (make the books Bound to Roster) with minimal effect on real players (all players will eventually need a legendary combat engraving themselves).
Plus it is less tragic if adventure tome items become worthless compared to a legendary grudge book. A friend got one in a cube run the other day and made a groan and joked that he got a garbage engraving book. That is a tragic state for the game to be in.
True. But I don’t think this fact has any bearing on whether this should be changed or not. It is still highly exploited by the bots with a significant effect on the games economy (if engraving books are cheap it means everything else is more expensive b/c now players have the gold they saved on engraving books to spend on everything else).
Leg engraving books should be even cheaper and also easier to acquire if anything.

Grudgebooks gone from 14k to 8k now in EUC in like a week. Soon all will have grudge and the gold sellers will be swimming in gold, good job.

You are right, Smilegate (the developer) has created a great “intended play experience”. But Smilegate developed the game with a Korean audience in mind. In Korea you need your social security number to be verified by the government to play Lost Ark. This makes it significantly more difficult to bot on the Korean version of the game. In Korean 1000s of bots didn’t make new accounts to reach Thronespire and sell the Legendary Engraving Books, thus tanking their value.
The developers intended to have each actual Korean player to get 2 books to sell or use themselves. Not for each Player to get 2 books and 10 bots farm the books and sell them for half price back to that player. In the process handing over millions of gold to the botters accounts.
I know people that work at video game studios. Most of them don’t even play video games. For all we know most people at AGS barely know anything about Lost Arks economy or have been closely following its trends to see if something is being messed with by the bots. They need the players to point out stuff like this and to explain to them how it matters to fix it for the game to be as Smilegate intended it to be.
Funny that only after people get their +12 grudge for cheap is this a problem.

Even if you are right this is not the way to do it. Doing it this way is out of AGS/SG control so it could add too many legendary engraving books. Plus it means the botters get millions of gold selling the books on the AH and then people want to buy gold from illegal sources rather than through Royal Crystals.
It’s because it’s a terrible idea. They’d rather put resources into fighting bots to begin with.
Besides, the moment they do it, tons of threads pop up: “Oh man, you guys nerfed books on bridge, dead game, killing the game, GG AGS”

Why do you assume that bots are the one who botting the tower and not the players who finally reached the ilvl required to actually able to clear the 22nd floor?
I’m actually very skeptical how a bot at ilvl 1325 be able to clear it

The problem is this was predicted to happen even before they release the tower, saintone the Korean streamer said 2 months ago that the price of legendary books will drop once vykas is released because ppl will finally reach ilvl 1430 and be able to clear the tower

first of all fucking adress the server u are playing on and which region/ server cluster. if u have rmt problems thats not the fault of teh botfarm it teh palyers that buys it same with players that using bots to stand out from others. and btw these 2 grudge books are basicly worthless in comparision to a lvl 1430 char that cost min 20k if u have to buy all things in euw 35k or more

There is a damage hack that they use. Also, easy fix for the problem is to make the legendary engraving only be opened at like 1415 or so, so the bots have to invest alot in their characters instead of only 1325.
Another easy fix is just to make it roster bound.

Because I’ve done daily/weekly everything chaos/guardian/cube/etc for 6 months on 6 characters and I’ve only ever got 5 grudge books ever. People need 20. They are the best book to have for every player. There is NO WAY they are not the most expensive book unless some shenanigans are going on. In every other region they are the most expensive book always.
The bots clearly exist. Do you seriously think they can’t figure a way to clear thronespire? They can make any class with any build and do anything perfectly gameplay wise. Even without the damage hacks they would be clearing it at an extremely low level.
EXACTLY the books are NOTHING in the big scheme of things for someone who wants to sell them for gold. I am making over 100k a week now for several weeks. This game is meant to be consistently played for months/years. 16k gold from 2 books isn’t anything. Plus people NEED combat engravings eventually anyways so you will spend that 16k to buy those books back one day.
The only reason some people are trying to stop this change is b/c they want BOTS to farm the books and sell them to them for cheap. This is NOT a good reason to stop this change. If people want cheap engraving books then ask for AGS/SG themselves to make some change for that. Don’t ask a bunch of BOTS to make them cheap for you.

Currently we have about 50k or even more bots in the game, if they really can clear spire and sell grudge books, u will see thousands and thousands of grudge books in the market not just 18 books and u will surely see grudge books be waaaaaaay lower price than it is now since the demand will be waaaaaaaaaaaay lower than the supply rate from bots

No. Enough already. Every attempt against bots hurt real players since rapport gold nerf. This is not the solution. Battling bots should not impact real player gains.
These arguments are so childish and baseless.
So, what kind of illusion is “bots print thousands of grudge books” ?
How many grudge books are on sale now? 20? 30?
And to completely debunk your imaginary fears. Just look at grudge book price fluctuation since thronespire release : This shows the price did not go down at all. Bots tend to tank the price of commodities they sell. You would think that should’ve happened at some point in 1,5 months if what you suggest were even remotely true about “printing”.
I genuinely think you need to take a step back and think about your own enjoyment of the game and stop stressing about every single money making mechanic of the game that offers a little bit more gold to players. Bots will find something else to profit regardless. Meanwhile i do not mind selling every single legendary book i drop or get from chests. Because I won’t use them anyway. I will use the money from books to invest and make that 20k 80k and continue. Game is completely fine with 4x3 all the way until brelshaza.
This is not an “extremely important OMG must happen NOW game is being DESTROYED” type of issue. Just calm down and enjoy the game.
