This attitude is why people are just quitting. Very few people actually try to help new players learn what they’re doing wrong and how to correct it, they just dismiss them as trash and leave them with nothing.
The excuse that they don’t listen is just that, an excuse for toxicity and elitism. Most people are willing to learn if you approach them like people and not some snobby elitist.
We were trash too at the beginning but we figured stuff out. So why can’t “new players” figure some basic things out like decent gear and boss mechanics? We all watched those KR streamers explaining tactics, we all watched KR streamers and youtubers talking about gear progression. Why does anyone else have to be responsible for the newbies apart from themselves? There shouldn’t be a thing such as “learning groups”. Just watch the damn video explaining the fight as many times it takes for you to get it in your head and then go do it.
Git gud or make your own groups. If you think that someone is disgusting for having quality control in their groups, then the real toxicity lies in the mirror. They own the groups and they are literally theirs. They can do whatever they want with the groups and it’s fine as it’s nobody else’s business. If you think that you’re entitled to any kind of special treatment or consideration from others, then you’re simply too entitled. Ain’t nobody going to detract their enjoyment of the game or their chances to clear the content just because you don’t feel like tryharding or let alone git gudding at the game
is as dead as it can be… People are so stupid that even a alt run I can’t get with my 3rd 1460 cause guess what I am gate kept because I play arcanist and I have to play maxroll build where you have 4x3 1x2 and 1x1 and if I want to play Jiudau’s arcanist build which I enjoy because I get to spam skills, I am gate kept out of everything lmao… Don’t know about you, but at this point I am looking for another game.
Have a fellow in my guild that has returned to the game after a few months.
He made a group for argos p3 and said something like prog / returning players.
No1 applied.
Its almost like these new players just wants to leech of reclear groups to quickly succeed the raid, instead of joining the groups/making a group to progress
Well now that the playerbase has a much better and actually decent knowledge about the game and the shenanigans revolving around groups they aren’t simply applying blindly to whatever run is out there unlike in the first months of the game. So if they see a 1403 iLvl Sharpshooter with budget stats/engravings alone in a group with that title, why would an active and experienced player apply to said group exactly? Because if they’re on a busy server where there’s plenty of groups to choose from then they can just apply to another “know mech, chill run” group if they wanna have some casual fun with a 1,4k alt or just their main. Then again if it’s a low pop server then there might simply not be players applying at the moment or there’s still another one or few of the previously mentioned groups they’d rather join
When there’s cheap meat at the shop next to quality meat with a lower price tag then the quality meat will sellout before anyone takes the cheap meat. You can’t just expect players to randomly join groups or be flexible with their own personal preferences regarding preferred playstyles and groups. That’d be unreasonable
Hopefully your friend doesn’t have this problem in the future though
uh. I’ve helped teach mechs to many people when I need to fill one or two spots. I don’t care if I need to teach people mechs. I do care when you are 1415 with a t2 ability stone or you flat out tell me that using consumables is a waste.
also literally nothing I listed was anything that is elitest. I didnt mention anything specific towards gear. just bad gear. I didnt throw out 5x3 or anything.
My main concerns when looking at someones character sheet are effort slots
do you have a t3 ability stone
do you have all gem slots full
do you have t3 accessories of at least legendary
to me that is a pretty basic view of your effort. I have 5 gunlancers. 1485. 1445. 1415. 1400 1385
every character has at least full t3 level 5 gems
at least a 4x3 engravings
at least a current tier of ability stone and acessories
at least legendary or higher armor and weapon
at least 20 of each relavant consumable for the content
To me all of that should be basic for any end game content, but I don’t require that to accept someone into a group. I’d be fine with someone who pays attention. has enough hp to survive and has consumables
Seeing threads like this and remembering that I quit as 1391 I don’t think I’ll ever come back because I’ll be sooooo far behind the curve that I won’t even be accepted into any parties.
