I bought the bronze pack yesterday on steam, and played this game all night last night… 10 hours.I have been having a blast with the game and I have no negative feelings toward the game play, that being said, I bought the bronze pack specifically for the cat pet and this cat has caused me so much frustration. I started a character and redeemed the cat on Wednesday just to find out my friends would be playing on a separate server. Upon finding this out, I made a character on the correct server to find that the cat could only be used on one character. (my fault for not paying attention when redeeming it). I was hoping I could transfer the character with the cat, but Unfortunatly no. I contacted support (Amazon support was all I could find) and they tell me to get a second cat, I would need to rebuy the founders pack, but since I bought the bronze already, I would have to purchase another. (Again, my own fault.) I then proceeded to play the game on the first server while my second character sat unleveled in the server I wanted to use.
Thursday, I get home from work and had been anticipating playing all day. I played on the character with the cat for 2 hours before deciding I wanted to just buy a new founders pack (silver) and make a new character on the server that my friends were using. I load up the server to see my unleveled character and decided that I just wanted to start fresh so I deleted her. I began my character creation, then backed out to check something cosmetic from the original character from the other server (I wanted to make the same girl). Upon returning to the server screen I was locked out from the server I wanted to use, not realizing that the only reason I had access was because of my unleveled character. Now I am stuck with only one the one character in the server I do not want to use.
After seeing this, I decide to try to do some research to find when the server will be unlocked. I was hoping to play before the official release considering I bought not one, but two founders packs but I was unlucky in finding anything to ease the anxiety of knowing my friends were all playing when I couldn’t. I did however find an article (Team Update: Founder's Packs & Server Status - News | Lost Ark - Free to Play MMO Action RPG) The article states “Players have let us know one of the reasons they are reluctant to switch to lower population servers is because many of them have already redeemed their Founder’s Packs on another server. To help combat this and make exploring new servers a more reasonable choice, we will be granting ALL Founder’s Pack purchasers that redeem their pack by 12 PM PT (8 PM UTC) on Monday, February 14th an extra set of the exclusive items from the Founder’s Pack they redeemed (e.g., the Founder’s Exclusive Pet and Founder’s Title from the Bronze pack; see full list below) as well as some additional Royal Crystals for Silver, Gold, and Platinum Pack purchasers.”
So not only did I delete the one character giving me access to play with my friends, I also spent an extra $25 unnecessarily to get an item that I could have had for free. (The article was posted shortly after I purchased the second pack after being told this was the only way to get the cat). The DLC is non refundable and I can’t even use the founders pack to play early with my friends so I am just feeling defeated and annoyed. I know once the game is actually released on Friday, it will likely be more difficult for me to join this server.
