Chaos Dungeons is not where your leapstones come from. You get ~15 daily from Una’s Tasks (20 if you use the +1 Una’s task), and you get 6 or 8 from Guardian depending on if you’re doing nacrasena or igrexion. You get about 30 from your three weeklies, and they’ve given plenty of sources of mats. You can also use gold to buy leapstones from the AH if you’re desperate (though I don’t recommend this).
You should NOT have 9 characters, especially if you don’t have time to play them as you say. A good number to have is three and you can add more depending on your time availability.
Plus, as F2P, you can’t expect to progress simply by doing your dailies. You need to make use of resources in the game to earn gold. That means making sure you do all of your Abyss Dungeons for gold + selling engraving books for a decent amount of gold every week. Do life skills and sell mats in AH for gold, or farm collectibles to sell on AH for gold. Farm infinite chaos and sell Greater Honor Leapstones for gold. Do your adventure islands, chaos gates, etc. Do map rotations, run Una’s task reputation for skill point collectibles, etc.
T3 destruction/guardian crystals can be acquired weekly from pirate ship vendors, bloodstone vendors, the three event vendors we have currently, plus more. Leapstones should be the bottleneck if you’ve been utilizing your resources correctly.
There are many avenues in which you can earn gold and resources in the game. If you are not utilizing all the methods in the game to help yourself as a F2P player, that is on you.

also why are you telling me how I should be playing the game? I want to play 9 character and I have the time to do so, why are you telling me I should be playing 3 instead? Where in my post did I mention I don’t have time to play all 9?
I’ve read probably the first 30 responses to this thread and would like to throw in my experience and some advice on how I progressed.
Some background: I’m currently 1386 main, with 1355, 1340, 1000, 820, 580 alts. Currently sitting at a little over 250 failures between all my characters. Completely f2p but I did out in an unhealthy amount of hours a day.
There is definitely a deadzone between 1340 and 1370 where mats are scarce, mainly destruction stone, guardian stones, and leapstones.
What I ended up doing is funneling trade mats to my main from my 2 t3 alts, they were both at 1325 before I hit 1370. Funneled their weekly guild shop, pirate coin merchant shop, dalt chaos and guardian. I only sold leapstones from guardian because those were very profitable. When I ran out of everything to do, I did endless chaos dungeon grind on my main for bound guardian and destruction stones. About 10 destruction and 20 guardians a run on average. This also gets me boss rush tickets to get leapstones.
Obviously also do daily and weekly una’s for leapstones. I have also been buying all the t3 leapstones off Mari shop since they first appeared on Mari shop a few weeks ago and just keep them unclaimed until I need them, ended up using it all up.
When I was pushing 1355 to 1370 a week and a half ago I had a stash of 400+ leapstone and still ran out before I hit 1370. The way I got over this hump was by buying anguish island shop leapstone from both of my other 2 tier 3 alts and transferring the boxes over to main,50leapstone each.
Hope this helps. I did get lucky with upgrades but also pitied quite a few pieces and to be honest I felt like I was lacking guardian stones more than anything else most of the time.
I just hit 1370 right now with the bound event mats plus buying around 2-3k worth of material from 1365, the event helped slightly with the book, but nothing that I wouldn’t have already this reset from pirate coin and racing event. I ended up with pity over 12 times up to 100% on my gear(most attempt was with protection, a lot spent from collecting mari shop for over the last 3 weeks). with over 230 fails. I’ve already been funneling mats from alts to main and selling / buying from Mari up to this point. This dead zone is what making players quit, so why don’t we exit this asap and move onto the better part of the game that brought back players in the KR version?
Bro just get 12 characters to T3 and then only do your chaos with rest bonus. Later on we get 24 slots so we can do chaos on 12 chars with bonus everyday.
Congrats on 1370, I got some advice for you now that you’re 1370 as well, well actually more like information.
The worn hero gear you get from chaos is not real gear, you can’t put it on. It is only used for skill tree fodder.
New gear comes from crafting with mats from 1370 hard mode abyss and Argos. Here is the kicker though, doing both stages on hard mode at 1370 will only get you enough mats to craft 3 pieces. Argos phase 1 will get you enough mats to make 2 pieces. You’ll sti be lacking your 6th piece till week after.
Some more info so you can make some decisions. Phase 2 Argos requires 1385, if you do phase 1 Argos that week, you won’t be able to reenter later to do phase 2.
If you want to reach 1385 with 3 pieces of gear from hard abyss only, you have to get all 3 pieces to +12, from my experiences, I had nowhere near enough great honor leapstone to even come close.
If you do Argos phase 1 only and want to hit 1385 with 5 pieces so you can research bonus success rate for 1302-1370, you’ll need 2 pieces +9 and 3 pieces +10. I did this route and still lacked leapstone, barely got it 2 days ago. This also only unlocks 1385 chaos and you’re locked out of Argos and cannot try phase 2 until the weekly reset.
Thanks for the gear advice, I don’t need to rush 1385 now that gatekept is done, getting to 1385 is just matter of time, just gotta collect the gear and 1385 should be easy as I’ve been saving up greater leapstone from mari shop while I bought blue crystal for very cheap. . As long as I can do 1st part of Argos I’m happy for now It just means my week has gotten more productive than before.
now that I’m 1370 I have no reason to put in effort to reach the next point because there is no 1415 content yet, Goal is 1385 for honing buff and eventually in maybe 2 weeks I’ll have it. I will now just naturally go at a slower pace than before.
Issue still stands for player who aren’t as fortunate as me in terms of wealth, when I made lots of money during release stage of the game. Those player might be stuck in the same spot as I am but for a longer period of time.
why would you not consider that f2p? Its a pre order package available before game release, not an expensive pack and value was beyond what it cost, why would you not purchase it? I don’t think f2p these day directly means spending 0$, but I spend 50$ on the package and 0$ to boost my ilevel, and I bought nothing except alt slot with royal crystal. I think that would consider a f2p player.
not trying to argue about that here lol. I never spent so i didnt have the same option thats the end of it. I don’t really care about the definition was just wondering if i missed something.
If you started later, then sorry just spend 30$ and buy some slots if you want it, but 6 toon is really all you need right now as some mention in the thread, I choose 9 because I love playing different classes, and I wanted to experience more of the game.
Go look a guide on youtube man … The first playthrough from t1 to t3 is easy as hell, the jslands give you all the materials needed to be near t3 instantly … It’s insane how much stuff jt gives you
Now with both events and even the gift they gave, there’s no way to be crying about mats mainly with your first char
3 T3 characters now and still dont have to do a second day run. Character 2 i missed shoulders on my first run but i got 2 to pick from on the second try.
Idk still doesnt seem like its a prevalent and game breaking issue.
. As long as I can do 1st part of Argos I’m happy for now
