Youâre just being contrarian. You know where the difference lies. If it gives you anything helpful to progression which you canât get for free (in that amount and occasion), itâs not f2p.
Yeah it boils down to what newbie said, it depends on your definition of f2p.
In a way youâre right. Itâs just that from my standpoint, I couldnât care less if they spend millions on skins, if their progression is as natural as mine, theyâre f2p because Iâm f2p
Are you sure? Hereâs the definition of free to play according to Wikipedia:
Free-to-play (F2P or FtP) video games are games that give players access to a significant portion of their content without paying or do not require paying to continue playing. Free-to-play is distinct from traditional commercial software, which requires a payment before using the game or service. It is also separate from freeware games, which are entirely costless. Free-to-playâs model is sometimes derisively referred to as free-to-start due to not being entirely free. Free to play games have also been widely criticized as âpay-to-winââ that is, that players can generally pay to obtain competitive or power advantages over other players.
There are several kinds of free-to-play business models. The most common is based on the freemium software model, in which users are granted access to a fully functional game but are incentivised to pay microtransactions to access additional content. Sometimes the content is entirely blocked without payment; other times it requires immense time âunlockingâ it for non-paying players, and paying the fee speeds the unlocking process. Another method of generating revenue is to integrate advertisements into the game.
According to the definition, even if there were raids which required you to pay to enter them, LA would still be f2p since majority of the content doesnât require.
Therefore, the definition you and Luna have in mind is your own definition. YOUR OWN. not an official one, and not one related to the context of this topic (which btw you just decided to hijack in the middle of the discussion).
LA is free to play; people who only spend on skins are free to play, and there is no definition in this world nor this context which will make your reply to me valid.
If youâre going to invent your own definitions, please invent your own names for those terms you are defining, because âfree to playâ is a properly defined, existing term.
Words have meaning. I believe those were your words, not mine
I didnt invent anything. Free has a meaning and it has nothing to do with in-game advantage. Since you are now endorsing wiki, you are saying that you can be F2P as long as you start the game for free regardless of what you buy afterwards. So now youve contradicted yourself. Impressive and well done. Youve destroyed your own argument.
Look I understand I play similarly I was planning to buy costumes but since I made so much gold I didnât touch the 40 bucks sitting in Lost Ark shop. lol If they are doing a challenge run for the sake NOT âpaying for progressionâ and they legitly show their receipts of paid costumes⌠yeah sure the player can definitely say he is âF2Pâ.
It is unreal to say a player is âF2Pâ after buying multiple character slots that give that player an edge on how many resources he can get in each day. Or Ark pass, or platinum packs. It is mind-blowing every time a streamer or content creator says they are âF2Pâ when you can see they are not.
I donât go to a grocery store buy bread and say itâs âfreeâ.
OP expresses happiness about the focus on the cash shop and the release of a trailer for new cash shop items. However, they then go on to state that the cash shop is not beneficial for free-to-play players, which contradicts their initial statement.
Seems to imply that the developers prioritize the cash shop over addressing community concerns, without any evidence to support this claim.
Assumes that creating a video addressing community concerns would be just as easy and simple as creating a trailer for cash shop items, without considering the differences in resources and effort required for each.
Expresses disappointment in the lack of progress on certain issues without specifying what these issues are, making it difficult for readers to understand and assess the validity of OPâs complaints.
first line was sarcasm. Later on i said itâs not beneficial to f2p (which is true but they donât really care anyways because they donât use it). Edit: I even wrote âamazongâ over amazing to make it easier for people to understand sarcasm but i guess it is what it is
I donât have anything against cash shop overall because i m not using it at all.
Why is it hard to adress problems and progress on them if they are already trying to fix them for months? Mmm?. Itâs simple as that - "Hi, guys we know problems pressist and currently our direction to that is that and that. We understand frustration etc, currently we are working on these major problems to improve the game ⌠". Literally can make video of 3-4 minutes and have better touch with community over replying with âI will let the team knowâ. Will let people know atleast on what they are mainly focusing now, what is progress on that. Now no-one knows what they are doing and what they are mainly trying to solve.
if you donât know problems which are in the game as of yet. I would advise to try playing game or read up more forums Because major problems are not hard to find. I didnât specify any because here are so many of them right now?
