I want to give a huge thanks to Roxx, Shadow_Fox and every other CM

Hi everyone! First of all, I know a lot of people in this forum will accuse me of “white knighting”, but I don’t really care. I think we’re all on the same boat.

I really like this game, I’ve played 200h since the release and I know from first hand things are not in the best condition possible, that’s undeniable. In fact, I’m currently taking a break from the game because I started over on EUW to play with friends when it came out and now that they don’t play anymore I have to do it on EUC again, and I can’t (Also don’t want to) force myself to play the MSQ. I’m just patiently collecting daily login rewards and reading forums to keep updated of the news. I’ll play again when I feel like it or when new classes are released, because I’d really like to try new playstyles, as current ones are not my cup of tea (Gunslinger is the closest because I like high DPS complex classes, that’s why I’m so excited to play Arcana).

The thing is, you won’t see me coming here, pointing fingers, insulting and just spreading negativity. Because I know that things don’t work that way. One thing is complaining and criticizing, which can be positive, and arguably needed. You have to voice what’s wrong or things will never change for the better. But we don’t need 400 posts of “plz amazon stop keeping [ Insert Class Here] from us”. They already know how much we want new classes, ten posts a day won’t help and it’s even worse if they are hostile. It’s the team’s job to balance their interests and ours, while them doing it right is another entire topic.

And one thing is for sure, Roxx, Shadow_Fox and every other Community Manager (Sorry, I don’t know all your names, but this goes for everyone equally) are “on our side” and they are not to blame for design decisions. They share our voices with the developers and the developers’ voices with us. That is their job, at least as CM. They can’t just do and say whatever they want like you could. And they don’t seem the kind of person that hides information from us just out of malice. Some people seem to think they have the solution to all our problems and they are just keeping it away from us willingly. If I were them, I would be eager to tell the community the news they are waiting for so long. So while they may have that information, which is probable because as far as I know they are part of the team, they can’t just share it with us.

But above all, they are human beings. They are not perfect or all-seeing. They have feelings and they have their own lives outside of this game. There’s so much they can do in a day and there’s so much they can take. The price they pay for being the intermediary is that people, which are understandably emotionally charged and frustrated, direct their feelings towards them. Players transform their frustration into hate. And it makes me a bit sad. While I don’t know them personally and don’t know how emotionally strong they are, over time it can be emotionally draining because that’s just how the brain works.

I wish all games had this amount of communication between the team and the playerbase. Thank you guys for your work, really. We are all lucky to have you and I wish you keep up the good work and hope you all are well. Have a great day!

P.S: I’m sorry if it was a lengthy post, I just wanted to voice my opinion and spread some positivity. Also, I’m sorry if something is not worded well, English is not my first language.

CM's Why are these lawmaker sets different? In something like this it’s unclear who is messing up but it’s way too frequent irregardless.

In all seriousness, the CMs here have been really good!

This is exactly what I mean. She probably told the team about the problem, then they decided to do something and she told us their decision. They screwed up again making the second set not dyeable. It’s understandable people are not happy about this, as it’s something they paid for.

We already know there are communication issues between Smilegate and AGS, probably due to distance., time zones, priorities, etc. so I don’t think everything is expected to be instant or fast. It took almost a month to solve the first issue.

But, besides that, how is it her fault in any way?

We can’t know who’s responsible either way is my point, so you can’t just assume the one you want didn’t mess up. It’s strange that they didn’t even mention the dye etc issues though…

EUW Login event ends on 3/14 - #7 another example (they were told it’d break 4 days in advance, said they’d do something about it, someone on either end didn’t do anything about it, it broke)

Also, solve the first issue? It isn’t solved, read a bit below their last post to see everyone calling out the issue with what they said.

The CM’s also gave conflicting info about skin tradability, and Roxx seemed to think the german-only CM was a full EU CM instead of literally only being german-only and dealing with german-only language issues solely so it seems a mess.

Ill actually come out and say that i dont think the community interaction is good enough to be honest except maybe the CM the german forums have. We get on average 6 posts/replies every few days and thats about it. Rarely to they reply to the “hard hitting threads”. Sure they may do 6-8 hour days and maybe most of that is reading and compiling data from posts but the interaction is simply not good enough. They definitely need more CMs with the activity of this forum though thats for sure.

I’m not sure that people get that ‘‘we’re looking into it’’ isn’t actually a fix, and when fixes often come out broken, even several times, or information is wrong at least half the time from official sources, it does more harm than good ESPECIALLY on paid items where people are being outright missold stuff tbh. Whether that’s the CM’s fault or people on the other end, who knows, but it’s a bit weird to celebrate when things are messing up so fast and frequently and so many bandaid fixes keep failing.

Its the quality of the replies as well that does it for me. If you go and read the quality of the replies for the german population its miles better. Now i dont want to say ours are doing a bad job as im sure theyre not but the german CM just has that very important personal touch and you can relate to what theyre saying more as its not robotron 3000 replies.

Well, it’s a valid point to think it could be better, because it definitely could.

I also have this strange feeling of coldness when they just don’t follow up after a problem arises after the previous statement. But the reasons are unknown and it could be that they don’t know anything else or that they don’t want to state something unless they are sure of it. Or well, while I don’t expect it to be, it could also be that they don’t care (Although I think they do care). It’s hard to know for sure. It’s not black or white.

Most of the “Hard hitting threads” are trolls though, people demanding things or just doomsayers. I think answering most of those would be a waste of time.

I mean, I kind of get that, but at a certain point it shifts to ‘‘we need to see actions, not words’’ and the amount of initial extra good will only goes so far. And past that, it gets to ‘‘ok, what are your exact policy/staffing changes to fix your review process’’ which, tbh, I think we’re at.

I think too many people on here end up taking their frustrations out on the CMs when really the CMs aren’t the ones making decisions regarding the game, they’re just the point of communication between the players and the developers.

Part of their job is to read through our (sometimes very rude) complaints and comments, filter out useful/useless, fast-track certain topics to the devs, etc.

People get angry at the CMs for being unable to give us strict timelines etc., but stuff like that simply isn’t a decision that the CMs can make. They just tell the devs what we tell the CMs, then tell us what the devs tell them.

We should make a better effort to not make their jobs horrible, if we alienate our CMs then we spoil the line of communication between the players and developers. If you’re frustrated with something in the game, aim that frustration at the developers who are making the design decisions - not the CMs who are here to help us as best they can.

It’s probably exacerbated by the developers being mostly faceless, which makes the CMs easy targets, but yeah.

We appreciate you CMs

Not saying CM’s can’t get way too much flak or have a hard job, just trying to keep people reasonable about the fact that AGS can and will slip up, and if they keep doing it so frequently it absolutely should be called out.
