Ppl earning 150k weekly are the reason Pheons are there as devs always put some mechanics to sink players gold. Meanwhile “normal” players who can’t make abys+legion+whatever you want x 6 alts every week have the gold just for the pots.

I dunno, I just don’t like a 1.2k (at current blue crystal prices) tax cost on every 100-300g ability stone when I’m trying to get my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th alt with 5x3.
It’s like if they add in RL a fixed tax that increases costs on goods from 50% to 400%. Fixed taxes are only fine for the rich people, which is why u are fine with it in your post, while everyone else burns the government down.
Because people were trying to keep up to their friends/guildmates/spenders to be ready for the next raid… If you weren’t prepared to be above the curve when leaps were selling 300g-1kg you were in a chase period…
I don’t have a problem with pheons now and my roster is at least fully 4x3, but i remember days where i went out of gold 2 days after reset if i didn’t sell my honingmats cuz i needed to keep up with my static
I’ve played since headstart, and my main is 1445, I have 2 alts at 1370, and 2 more just past Rohendel. For context: I have no kids, my current partner plays Lost Ark with me, and since I’ve been between jobs lately I’ve had loads of time to grind that I normally wouldn’t.
I promise you that 90% of players are most definitely not people that have 6 alts at 1415 lol.

I wasted literally all but about 100 pheons (and like 100k gold) just to get a 77 stone. Gold could have been saved by waiting even longer for cheaper stones… but the pheons… not really.
Otherwise I kinda agree that you shouldnt waste pheons on low quali on your main and that alts shouldnt waste too many pheons as you only need 3x3 at 1370 (which is not that expensive if you are patient and use the class engrav accessoires from argos) and maybe 4x3 as soon as your alts are going for vykas…

People have been wasting pheons and probably didn’t restock them when blue crystal was cheap. Or they are wasting gold, etc. so they have pheon issue for accessories.

Ya I have bought the Ark Pass and then a full second page of character slots to support my roster. That and I just wanted to try some different classes.
I am close to having 6x 1460+ but still not there yet, I’m guessing it will take a while for the last 1445 to “ascend,” she is very new with not a lot of GHL and I sell all of mine. Event Mats might change that though.
So the people that doesnt have 6 1460+ should be struggling whit pheons, thats what u mean?

If you have 1 1475, 2 1415 you are fine as well. I think most player that play 2-3hs a day on this game have that. People keep focusing on one liner and don’t read context of that discussion
Or maybe the person just started recently. It’s easy for us who are ready for brelshaza and played from day 1 with 6+ alts to keep up with the increasing prices. Yet I’d never recommend any new players to start playing lost ark, pheons, aura, accessories prices, engraving books. This game will kill all new potential players and even if they are somewhat potential whales to get to where we are at the moment will surely cost 10x or more.
I’ve finished all my engravings before valtan and had stocked 12k blue crystals by then. So yeah I’m safe, but my static and guild are getting discouraged to gear alts, who the fuck pays 15k for shadowhunter demonic’s legendary books? And any accessories which are truly expensive at the moment, besides aura and pheons are around 12k and 22k each for SA.
If then people stop playing, which new people will be able to get on the same level as us? This sunday was the first time I’ve seen Vykas Hard mode have only 1 pt, on a sunday afternoon. Soon enough if people drop this game and no influx of new players come this game is surely doomed and for sure this was not a personal decision of anyone and yet a macro scale event happening due to the system already in place.

yeah but this is not reality and instead the true reality is that anyone who didn’t race this game like we did from day one has no culpability because the economy is fucked and pheons are even worse. Facts are facts.
Reading through all the pheon posts has led me to one conclusion: its less “people cant afford pheons” and more “people dont want to spend on pheons”
Half this thread is calculating the cost of pheons for a whole roster at once, doing a bunch of math, and complaining that its not affordable.
No one gears 6 characters at once in all relic gear. And by the time you get to the point when you need relic gear for 6 characters youll be able to easily gear them one per week or two.
You cant honestly expect to afford to gear 6, in full relic, plus stones, plus tripods instantanously as most above me are trying to portray as normal.
Secondly, while i believe the pheon system is mostly fine, [save for rocks] OP is totally dilusuonal on progression of the average LOA player. But im not sorry if the “average gamer” cant afford to gear up a whole roster in BIS equipment instantaneously once they reach equipment thresholds.

I accept that maybe I am overestimating average player. I am not too sure because people in my guild are very efficient since day 1- some of them RU veterans and they tell us how to plan our gold back then.
I didn’t listen to them on legendary class engraving and now I am struggling having to pay 720kg in legendary book for my 4 char
Of course we can’t do anything, I’m not asking us to do anything for them lol. Ags/smile on the other hand.

The very act of linking playing efficiency to the pheon system is a fucking joke. Being able to afford with efficient and optimal play doesn’t make the pheon system any better. The vast majority of players can’t play efficiently or even put in the timesink. People who started when game launched didn’t necessarily play in RU or KR or even researched the most optimal way to play. The majority of us watched trailers and streamers and thought hey, the game looks cool. Imma check it out. Hey I got 400 pheons and never saw relic accessories in my life. Let’s buy this suboptimal jewelry to tide us over so igrexion doesn’t fuck me over.
You design game systems with efficient top players in mind and NOT as the norm. You take into account what’s possible, but always design it in such a way that the average players can reasonably interact with the system without feeling frustrated. The pheon system is fucking awful in and of itself. There’s limited ways to get pheons besides AGS throwing us a bone or buying it using blue crystals. Not all of us are going to bus and the game system wasn’t designed with bussing in mind. All jewelry and tripod gears have an artificial floor price that crowds out suboptimal jewelry that should be available because perfect accessories that fits your build won’t always be available.

Good point but I am not saying you even need to be super optimal to have enough pheons. Maybe I am wrong and I can admit it but…
Didn’t we get enough free pheons and weren’t blue crystals cheap to the point where you would have enough pheons to gear at least 2 characters? Or am I mistaken. I think people have been spending/wasting too many pheons such as rerolling accessory. I swear we got at least 400-500 free pheons since launch - where did those go?
That is why I made this post. As some people here have mentioned, 1 character players are also okay with pheons
I personally have enough to gear another 2-3 3x4 characters. I geared 2 so far and drained half my pheons I diligently saved. Yes, you make a point that people have been given enough to gear a decent roster. But it’s disingenuous to even imply that the pheon system is somehow decent or workable based on the free pheons we got and what we can do with them. Because now pheons are drying up. We get 9 per week from the event. Maybe a few from the daily login rewards. That’s a fucking drop in the bucket because all of that is gone buying 2 relic accessories. Never mind having a scuffed build because the one accessory combination you need isn’t on the market. Am I going to buy something suboptimal to tide me over? Hell the fuck no because that pheon tax raised the price of a 100 gold accessory to a couple thousand gold.
