I'm an addict, and I need to quit this game

improved how? maybe give some example beside “they should do better”

1 character or 18 characters, this game and it’s content loop is the definition of punishment

thats how all games work in this genre. You cannot come in here call lost ark repetitive when all MMORPGS work like that.

It’s like me going to the valorant forums and complain about how i dont like that i dont respawn when i die until the round is over.

Like i said, if you dont like doing 6 valtans, don’t do them. Do as many as you feel like.

I don’t want to get into this, I’ve written whole bloody twit-longers around here about the topic.

Suffice to say there are major differences between traditional MMO’s, content loops and Lost Ark.

So lets keep the thread on topic for the OPs sake

Such as?

To me it sounds like people don’t like that other people who invest more time into the game get rewarded. It’s a spoilt child mentality.

Time is starting to get inflated by being able to stay logged on, but honestly Time vs. Reward isn’t the issue really.

I’ll define the Content Loop being what was implemented to keep players engaged while future content is being developed for release.

Lost Ark’s end game content loop started on day 2 when you finished the NV story and started doing the guardian/una/chaos/procyon rotation. That’s for some maybe 12-14 hours into the game. This content loop persists and will continue to persist until you quit. By now you’ve killed every T3 guardian hundreds if not upwards of a thousand times.

In most other MMOs, there are thousands of hours of content before you get into that end game content loop. You have whole exploration paths available to you, crafting, side-missions, optional content, etc. When you are finally at an MMO’s end game waiting on new stuff and find yourself in that “end game content loop” you’ve likely invested thousands of actual playtime getting there and even still you have lots of stuff left on the side to do.

The difference is that LA is a very simple game at it’s core, there is very little actual content to it and that content is only expanded by creating alts, which also have a carbon copy experience the entire time and serve only one purpose, to provide you more daily/weekly runs for the same content. This is made worse by them pretty much killing horizontal content at T3, where all those solo exploration islands stopped. Everyone is all-in on Legion Raids, a weekly lockout clear then back to doing the same content loop that existed since NV for the rest of the week.

I’ve done better breakdowns but I can’t be arsed to go digging back through threads to find them, so this quick TL:DR will need to do.

“kMmO fOr YoU”

the absolute clown of the forums
the same guy that says that if you have a baby child you should not join a guardian raid in case the baby will cry and you need to go afk for a few moments and “waste other peoples time”
TIME lol as if you have anything valuable to do with it… you are down in the abyss, you are the example of the worst case scenario here buddy

@CasualREDeathBlade My roster is hella thin for my playtime, whats your point? not everyone wants to rush to end game content just to see bigger numbers, I have done the story fully with side quests, done quite a bit hortizontal content and quests, so? the only thing that remains with you after you quit the game is the memory of the story, these 'big numbers" wont

@newnewb12 its not, already spoken about this, everything is timegated in this game unlike other mmos, its far worse, far alot more hours for less rewards far more same content

@Redrowen I feel you man, you have realized and aware thats a huge step, its never too late to recover, there are people who are younger than you which are in the same situation you have been all these years, maybe they can read what you say and have an enlightment

It’s funny to hear. My post was specifically criticizing the irresponsibility of addicted parents that have dependent child.

You’re not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

1500 hrs lol. Ppl had that in less than 2 months

I gotta disagree with you honestly. Im addicted to heroin and spent a year in cook county on two different occasions. Never had any such problems with a video game. Also, If I stop playing lost ark I dont immediately get the flu and start throwing up and sweating, feeling like I am absoutely ready to kill the next person i see for five dollars. Nah, u wrong big time.

GLG

Everyone is different man. I had a bad run with drugs for 3 years of my life and gave it up easier than I can cigarettes or video games.

You are right though, the physical withdrawal symptoms are not nearly the same.

lol I wont repeat or try to convince you that what you spoke is absolute degenerate nonsense, almost 200 replys tried to and failed, so I wont bother

but I will quote

you kept insisting that if you have a child you should not play “lost ark because its time consuming and takes your focus”
my boy @Redrowen tried to put logic in your hollow head for no use

you critisize todays parents while you dont even have kids yourself
you did tough, aknowledge the bad effects gaming and lost ark in particular have in general and on you aswell so I will give you credit for that

I think it’s because we use the videogames as a shelter of avoiding face reality, specially when we have a bad period. I didn’t played MMO’s before so much, and didn’t spend so much time playing. Usually I played between 2-4 hours a day, sometimes more on weekends, in RPG, strategy or open world games, but not much online. This time I feel I crossed a line…

I think making this as a lack of efficience in time playing is no point. Wasting time at the game is playing the game anyways. If I like to spend more time like doing excavation, looking mokokos without guides or things like this, is my kind of playing. I usually don’t wait, I do first the chaos/world boss and mix with chaos dungeons/guardians, and after that the weekly things. I don’t play with the guild, I matchmaking everything.

thats me man, i realized how empty my life was during the long server maintenance

Well, you don’t know me for saying that I have “weak mentality”, and I don’t know if you have more duties than go to school. I’m self employed and my two parents are old and I need to do a lot of home tasks for them. I can’t afford to play more than 40 hours a week a game without feeling very guilty for wasting my life. Period.
