I was on this boss for the first time last night with matchmaking players. Long story short is that the nerf to the light beams has made the fight easier but far less intuitive. We may all be total idiots but we automatically assumed that we needed the golden beams to point at the player not even realising we had a cone, because there is no graphics in the cone just empty space. So we were trying to do something harder than before, lineup very thin off angle beams on to the X marked player. After 2 hours we quit. The original version was intuitive enough that i think we would have beaten the boss within the first 10 tries because its very clear what to do its just that people were executing poorly. All players in my group would have realised and been able to execute the previous design in about 3 tries based on the flow of ideas we had in the chat, they were all reasonably patient and competent.
Tldr new beam design is not clear enough, lacks intuition, could result in no improvement in clear rate
