I mean you had some good points, but I also don’t really agree with the overarching idea that AGS is doing all of these things for profit. I’m sure they would like to, but their approach on the long run (and even the short, minus 1 mill palyers in a month) is going to lose them more than they would have earned with a better strategy.
You can’t explain to me that the changes they have done on the “westernization” side were thought out and methodical. You can’t really explain why they say shit like “we’ll be brutally honest” and then do the opposite. And you can’t really explain why communication sucks and nothing we say seems to get through.
They’re just bad at this. You seem to have forgotten about New World and that this company has never had a successful game under their wings, which when you take into consideration the fact that Lost Ark is a good game yet still sucks this much after AGS got their hands on it, should tell you all about the kind of strategy they have. That and the fact that their head was literally fired. I seriously doubt they are swimming in revenue, especially without the wheels that drive a biggest chunk of it, cosmetics.
I did try complaining for weeks, and I did quit the game after it didn’t seem to work and I was actively pushed back against, so your point about people doing more harm to themselves by sticking around definitely makes sense, but sadly it will take more time before the unaware player will start to feel the repercussions of any of the things discussed.
You’d have to wait forever because the list would be too long to type. We’re not in 2005 anymore where dlcs get shipped on bonus cds from magazines. Most up and coming games ship content FREQUENTLY.
I already can not log in any more cause of the boredom I feel playing a class I will drop once Artist releases. Until they release her I will put the game on halt. I just don´t see why I should ruin my endgame experience more than now. I won’t buy costumes, renew my monthly sub or buy the coming battle pass. Why buy costumes you won’t be able to trade?
Drip feeding classes surly doesn’t work for me as I still have enough brain and restrain to fall for such marketing schemes.
Well there are loads of people who can’t complete content at the appropriate level, all they want is a 1490 carry ghat speed through sht… Ofc people are complaining when they matchmake Helgaia at 840 and gets screwed over by stagger check
It can happen at the time time, or systematically, and so it’s not mutually exclusive.
Usually, people are okay with waiting, till they realize the wait is unrealistic then they complain.
Some people keep playing even if they’re unhappy, others don’t.
But for sure, by the time most of these skins release those 1.2m players or 400k players won’t be here to even spend. So the whole drip-feed is scuffed anyways, I sure as hell won’t be here in another couple of months as the game gets more and more stale.
Nice post, and I guess this post is hidden by AGS, showing that it REALLY is what the company wants to do.
I think the best way to deal with it is to quit the NA/EU server by moving to RU. Yet there would always be players unwilling to leave so scheme like this will always succeed.
I feel sorry for every player in NA/EU cuz AGS is one typical company of this kind. I’m moving back to RU even we don’t have a lot of players there. At least we don’t have censored skins, delayed contents, and greedy publisher who milks every last drop of the players.
And sheep see process and continue w/o doing anything.
And hence the problem.
If you trully wanted the game to progress or get fixed you could just take to the forums and disc servers and ib sokidarity not log into it for a few days to send a message.
But there’s always ‘I don’t care doesn’t bother me’ people that think the world revolves around them and are too stupid to realise we can have better.
