Intro Boys are gone. Lost ark really has a solid playerbase

I started playing with 3 other friends. By now all of them left (tho they just wanted to try it out and see what the hype is about)
But i just looked for a new guild when they all left and now i just have 30+ new friends who are all discord active and im having an absolute blast.
When all ur friends left the game, try to find a new guild/friendgroup. The guildleaving penalty is not gonna go away, just take it and start looking. Nothing is more awful than nonstop solo PUGing in an mmo if u actually want to see some content.

Hmm. I stopped playing because I disliked the „endgame“. It somehow doesn’t feel rewarding to hone… eeh fail all the time and then to only unlock another raid (which is harder, which is cool but it requires to have dedicated people that won’t stop after a few fails and the community is pretty toxic in that regard because everyone is a pro and played LA before and insults others that are new and need to learn things first) but at the same time getting locked out of the old content which then minimizes the whole available content for that character. Which means, to enjoy every raid / abyssal dungeon, you need to have several characters at T1, T2 and T3 plus the fact that I don’t enjoy to play more than 2 max 3 characters. Oh and the lack of gear sets are a huge disappointment for me too especially not being able to take your old set with you into a higher Tier (looking at you crit Chance / damage sets). But hey, atleast the intro boys like me are gone now, those that only followed the hype and of course, the amount of players are „real“ players too.

not that easy. ive been through 20 guilds since launch now and theyre all dead. ive also inherited 5 guilds now from inactivity. I even pick the highest level guild on the roster and it turns out to just be like 1-3 active players left. They need to start being aggressive about pruning all the dead guilds or something so we can start getting solid full guilds again

it’s his 40alt :joy:

All friends quit and I quit too. This game isn’t worth the time, why play chore ark when there are many other games to play. Not to mention this game has some new controversy every week haha

This made me smile. Thank you haha.

In my opinion, this post is very disingenuous.

I personally feel as though this post was written with the angle of shifting blame over to players or, namely, “our friends” who no longer play the game. Worst of all, OP makes a broad stroke generalization that it’s all based on the hype train.

I could be very wrong here as we all know that intent and inflection don’t carry well over texts, emails, forum posts etc. However, posts like these do nothing but wrongly paint remaining players as some type of hero for putting up with the mismanagement of Amazon and the general culture of Eastern MMOs.

I personally got to 1400 before Valtan came out and simply stepped away from the game because it was giving me predatory monetization feelings. Had nothing to do with hype or Amazon mismanagement. The Eastern MMO culture was what did it for me.

I honestly don’t even know why I typed all this, but that feeling OP gave me of “Intro Boys are gone, only the Big Juicer Gamers are left and we’re better for it” irked me a bit.

Have a great weekend.

I started around 3 weeks ago, I’m on EU west so might not be like this on all servers but there is hardly any new players to do low end content , so Devs better do good job at keeping those still playing

Started with 3 lost one of those to internal drama but he’s still playing by himself, we gained 5 people so we are up to 8 people. Just sad that they started late so we only have 4 currently doing valtan.

Couldn’t agree more with this statement :joy:. Job/Chore ark + controversies

It still amazes me when people say the Steam charts numbers are the playerbase. That’s not how the Steam charts work.

All they show are the current number of logged in players, the past daily peak numbers, and the highest daily peaks of the past months.

The charts do not show how many accounts in total played the game during any given day, nor do they have any way of showing how many accounts in total play the game during every week and month.

There are people who do not play every day. These people also play the game on different days of the week. We also live on a planet with time zones and no one plays the game 24/7. Every day people play the game at different hours.

Let me use a very simple example if this is hard to understand. Game X has a peak of 10 players one day. Five people played the game for an hour that day, then logged out. Then five other people log in and play it for an hour and log out. Then five more other people log in and play the game and log out. Then ten people log in, play the game and log out,

The current number of players would go from 0 to 5 and back during the day, then to 10. The chart shows the daily peak was 10 players. Is the playerbase 10 players or is the playerbase the total amount of players who played the game that day? Again, charts will only show 10 players as the peak.

This is why games which have peaks of hundreds of thousands on Steam are actually played by millions of people. Only the devs & publisher have true data about the total number of active accounts. That is why when the game launched and got to slightly over million player peak in Steam, it was reported that there were about ten million active accounts playing the Steam version(Korean version has a similar amount of players too).

Of course we now know that there have been at least several million bot accounts too, so the true playerbase of the Steam version has not been ten million at any point. But it has been in the millions, and a daily peak of 600k indicates it is still several millions despite there being plenty of bots as we all know.

There are games with daily peaks around 600-1000 on Steam charts which have been recorded having actually 30-50k active accounts per month. This sort of a thing gives you some math which to use as a multiplicator when estimating true size of the playerbase.

Fuck you

Sadge

There should be catch up events and passes for upcoming classes. I would at least log in when they release a new class to claim the pass. I think they expire if you don’t claim them.

What’s your main? Cause I’m a 1445 zerker with 4x3 engravings and I get denied for 90% of the HM valtan groups I apply for have spent literally a full 10 hour day just trying to find groups and/or make groups… that was week 1… I havent even gotten to clear g1 again this week cause nobody accepts me into their groups, everyone is an elitist piece of sht expecting the best of the best for sht it’s not needed for.

You are delusional if you think that lol

100% of my friend that started the game with me, left the game.

I brought no friends. All the friends I might have brought would have been on different regions and one is in Belgium that bans Lost Ark. But I’m still here and not quitting any time soon :slightly_smiling_face:
