Is reflux piano build reputation really that bad?

No your wrong, they require you to have all mokokos collected and island souls as well as roster 500

There are few experienced lobby host who will accept you based on reasonable criterias. But don’t count on it. If you find yourself having a hard time being accepted to a raid, just try to make a lobby of your own. AND remember to be reasonable when accepting others. Don’t pass on what you hate.

Obviously if you have rainbow stats, you get what you deserve, unless your in a learning group

Reflux is one the best builds across all classes for Vykas. I’d consistently MVP with your character.

People suck at recruiting people that’s why.

You can easily clear Vykas HM on ilvl with any common variation of reflux build. They all work and they all deliver the dps required to clear the content. Heck I’ve done hellmodes with instant reflux (not piano tho) and it’s just fine. Piano reflux should work very well for Vykas in particular where casting reflux variants and Igniter tend to struggle at times due to the high amount of movement of the bosses.

Also most people don’t spend more than 3 seconds looking at an applicant for a pug and most of them only look at ilvl, engravings and maybe set.

There is nothing wrong about being 4x3 relic gear in Vykas HM, but there are too many sorcs looking for party so you would have to be exceptionally better to get accepted first. Also I’ve noticed some people just don’t like taking sorcs and zerkers, because they saw a few very bad players and somehow it affects their opinion on whole class.

ofc its lower in trixion, try to land ur doomsday or explosion or punishing striker igniter constantly in actual raid or have to hold ur skill till boss doing an attack so u can land ur doomsday :stuck_out_tongue:

You are only missing the fact that the Trixion doesn’t move around as much as Vykas and Guardians. So in that sense, Igniter will always hit harder.

I think most people don’t know the effectiveness of instant cast builds because is not viable until you get your relic set and some cooldown gems.

I have full relic set and even set zero cooldown for insta cast to see its true damage potential.

The only factor here is yes, bosses move around and do these gimmicks. So that is one pro that insta cast has over igniter. However, I was comparing caster reflux vs insta cast reflux. In my conclusion, it goes something like this:

Igniter hits the hardest and have the highest dps potential, but almost most punishing and hardest to pull off. Is it worth it?

Insta cast reflux hits the lightest, but fastest, easiest to pull off during a real fight. Most forgiving. Though the dps is lowest in Trixon.

Finally, there’s the regular caster reflux which I see it as being in the middle, a cross between insta cast and igniter. This was my preference.

theres an ATK interview vid of a sorc 1 trick pony, he play 6 sorcs and he prefer reflux piano over igniter and you should see the comparison of his solo monkey guardian run between reflux piano vs igniter

in the end its just up to people’s preferences. I myself have played both build and i prefer reflux piano because i like high APM builds / class and i dont like playing something that is too slow / clunky

I’ve seen the vid. And yaaa it’s a matter of preference. I wouldn’t let that one person’s opinion be the “be all end all” for your decision. Again, it’s preferences. If someone prefer bursty, big damage numbers, high risk/reward, then igniter might be their choice.

But for consistency and leeway, reflux is the way to go. Keep in mind there are two reflux builds.

This.
I main igniter and in order to actually be efficient you need to know boss fights very well.
I’ve noticed as we get more Legion raids my DPS windows get smaller (which saint pre warned about anyways).
Piano is extremely forgiving with more ease of use but nothing feels better than landing and criting a full igniter rotation.
Also having a lvl 9 cd and DMG gem for DD helps a lot.
I recommend atleast a lvl 8 cd gem for DD.

Yup well said.

This is the meme. Comparing trixion damage and thinking that proves or disproves a build. Casting reflux is a joke in practice genuinely. If you are going to play it just swap reflux for igniter and bam more dps. Piano reflux has proven to work at all tiers of play. Yes it requires legendary judgement conviction, and for most people needs a rework of tripods, but overall very solid build.

dont think anyone has an issue with instant reflux, party finder just has very extraordinary requirements to join, for vykas hm you already find alot of people with 5x3 so they might just keep on waiting list or straight up decline if there are more built people regardless of the direction of the build

also i found out that alot of the time you can get declined for no reason in particular, potentially they are waiting for friends to get on first before they start filling the lobby and accepting people or they dont have slots anymore because of waiting for friends (this happens way more often than i first thought)
also some people just straight up dont like to accept certain classes like sorc or berserker or whatever they had a bad experience with recently

your build is definitely more than enough for HM vykas and you shouldnt be worried about it

I wouldn’t say casting reflux is not a joke nor is it a weaker version of igniter. Casting reflux is in between insta cast and igniter in terms of damage, difficulty to land skills. Casting reflux is forgiving like insta cast yet it does more damage than insta cast.

Between Piano and Igniter there isnt necessarily a “right” build, but I will note that Casting is more of a compromise than a middle point. It may feel safer to not need spec build up and have extra dashes, but your casting spells take substantially longer to land - ergo, being stuck in place for longer than you would if you were Igniter and therefore less safe. I strongly dislike it for that reason.

Interesting thoughts. In my experience, I never had any issue with being animation lock or having such long cast time. I feel very safe playing caster igniter as I can spam spells like insta reflux but hit harder than them yet still get away with missing a meteor. Igniter though, can not miss that meteor.

So for me, igniter is like a hard punch, caster is medium punch, and insta reflux is fast light jabs ;))
