I don’t know man, I’m not gatekeeping classes. For me, 90% of the players are like the zerkers you describe (either blind, or don’t care, or just boomer reflexes). If I was applying your logic to my PoV, I wouldn’t find any players to play with ^^.
What I do insteed : I get better myself, plus I get my characters even stronger than “necessary” so I can carry these people when they sneak into my skill parties =).
Our group doesn’t gatekeep, you got a decent set up we let you in. Do a dry run and see how you can handle yourself. For Valtan, make it to the second orb phase alive. G2 at least make it to ghost. You know, just make it past the easy mechs. We give some leeway with attack patterns, I’ve seen ilvl 1490-1500s juggled by Vykas on norms till they died, the guy didn’t touch the ground for 30secs. Seen pizza mechs disappear midway, health bars missing, and invader block Wei. Everyone gets one BS moment, we try again. But you lacking the second time well we voting you off the island.
The thing is that, what you see is GS and Sorc dying somehow when they’re undergear. Logic, they’re squishier so the average players that have issue dodging gonna have harder time as a GS or a Sorc, rather than usual melee that have much higher Health and Armor coefficient.
But for me, when I fill a pug into some Legion Raids, what I see is just people that keep flying left and right, tanking everything in the face, missing there skill. People throwing lasers here and there in G1 Valtan. People FLYING in G2 Valtan. People turning PVP in Vykas or just fly everytime she do a mechanics. People failing over and over again simple mechs like G1 Vykas. That’s I see.
And to me, should they die or not doesn’t make any difference, they’re still a bunch of sukkos that sneak into my skill party, thinking that I will not notice that they’re only half-skill in the content they pretend to be skilled. And this is true regardless of the class they play. To me, having that “gigachad” Gunlancer that can’t stop Clowning or turning PvP in Kakul-Saydon/Vykas is as annoying to me as that Reaper that can’t stop dying to random mechanics.
So yeah for me doesn’t make any differences, whenever I go into pugs (which doesn’t happens often) I know it’s gonna be clown fiesta and I just play better and mald in silence. I never gatekeep classes or class engravings.
This may sound like a dumb question, but can you put a heavy armor engraving on Reaper to make her less squishy? Or is that a waste of an engraving slot?
i don’t think anyone would accept a dps class with heavy armor tbh. it only shows them that you don’t know how to play and always eating damage left and right which is not a good sign.
