I have this fantasy that after the closed beta is over and the dust is settled, that AGS comes around and declares that they’re ready and going to launch before the end of the year. I mean, NW is a bust and this game has been around for numerous years in the East. So if the beta goes well, maybe we can get this earlier than expected? Here’s to hoping!
the only thing we know for sure is that the march 31st 2022 is just a placeholder date
So there is a high chance that we can get a earlier release then that date
… or, in the worst case, be delayed again, since was delayed one time, the 1st placeholder was October 31.
Final Fantasy XIV has Endwalker releasing November 23, 2021 which means that its first patch for the expansion will be late February or early March since they go three months between patches.
Guild Wars 2 has End of Dragons releasing late February 2022.
I doubt Amazon will do an earlier release of November or December 2021. In my opinion it will be January or March depending on the state of the game and localization. Personally I think they will aim for January if all goes well with Closed Beta and there are not too many localization or server issues that they have to fix or tweak.
Edit: I know that Final Fantasy XIV and Guild Wars 2 are massively different styles of MMO’s to how Lost Ark is but at the end of the day they’re all still MMO’s. Amazon will want to give Lost Ark a bit of breathing room so it’s not going up against two of the big MMO’s on the market.
I really hope for late January release.
Three months after closed beta are enough lol
How long we have to wait come on!
There’s also Destiny 2’s update as well as Elden Ring coming late February. Ideally launching around Mid-January to early Feb would be the latest they’d want to. Now… if they were really ambitious they could work to launch mid-late December. This would not so much capitalize on ‘selling the game for Christmas’ as for having cash gifted to them… they might be more willing to spend in a cash shop for some fancy duds or if you’re like me… a lot of character slots.
the list of the games until march is insane…
Monster Hunter Rise* (Capcom): January 12 2022
Dying Light 2: Stay Human* (Techland): February 4 2022
The King Of Fighters XV* (SNK): February 17 2022
Horizon Forbidden West: February 18 2022.
GhostWire: Tokyo* (Tango Gameworks): Early 2022
Destiny 2: The Witch Queen* (Bungie): February 2022
Saints Row* (Deep Silver Volition): February 25 2022
Marvel’s Midnight Suns* (Firaxis): March 2022
Yeah… hear that AGS? Capitalize on the money folk get from the holidays!
I’m sorry, but I think it’s stupid to think that they are doing this so that the lost ark would not be squeezed by competitors since it has been functioning with them for 3 years at home, they just don’t want to kill their 1 project because of which we got the game transfer
Yes… Lost Ark has been running fine against Final Fantasy XIV and Guild Wars 2 in Korea and Japan for the last three years. That still does not mean that Amazon needs to launch the game and go up against both of them when they have heavily anticipated expansions coming out. Picking January or March as a release window gives them time to shine and to dominate gaming news without being overshadowed by Final Fantasy XIV or Guild Wars 2.
Completamente de acuerdo.
Let’s see…New World final Beta in early September…launch two weeks later! Nothing stopping AG from launching Lost Ark right after CBT. Much more stable game, will probably be relatively bug-free, so no BS about needing months to squash bugs after we see New World was launched as a bug-infested mess. Will AG think of us and what would make its player base happy and excited, or will it just do what’s best for AG’s pocketbook? @playlostark…we’re waiting to see if you maintain the goodwill you’ve generated recently, or flush it all down the drain. You originally promised the game’s release in 2021…it would be an amazing gesture of goodwill if you surprised us and kept that promise.
is there still a chance for a release in Belgium (and the Netherlands) with lootboxes disabled? because I really want to play this game.
Lost Ark will be launching early 2022, we do not have plans to launch it earlier than that time.
