No-one force you to do Hard Brel. You can keep doing Normal Brel 'til forever.
You will need ancient gear later when you want to transfer to the next gear Tier (which is upper-ancient with Akkan), but that’s about it.
You will need full ancient gear in order to upgrade your gear set effect to level 3 later with Elgacia as well, but not having it will not lock you out of content “technically”.
Later in Elgacia you’ll be able to do 1520 Abyss Dungeon just fine, no-one would bother you because you don’t have ancient gear here.
However, the more time will pass and the least people will be eager to invit non-ancient characters in 1560+ content. Basically, in a couple of months from now, I won’t invit characters that does not have full ancient gear (we’re talking about left side of your gear here) in my Hard Brel parties and even less in my Elgacia abyss dungeons parties (1560+ content). I don’t think anyone would invit you in Akkan legion raid if you haven’t got your full ancient gear by then.
So I strongly suggest you do keep doing Hard Brel, at least G1 to G4, until you get full ancient gear, then you can consider going back to normal mode so it’s a bit less overwhelming. We do have the “catch-up” mechanism on ancient gear so getting full ancient gear only takes you ~2 months doing G1 to G4. Double that if you’re only doing G1-G2.
Lol what’s the point of playing an MMO if you’re going to skip content. It’s a linear progressive game. Just like people trying to skip Kouku and wait for Abrel, it’s just silly and in the end you just phase out because you can’t keep up with the mechanics the game requires. Suggest you get grinding.
You need the new gear to be tanky and stronger for brelhm>akkan>future raid.
Plus ancient gear color looks cool asf. Why wouldn’t you want to feel like a god in game.
You can stay 1550 with relic gears but many players will just gate keep you from future content. It’s like do you want saitama (1550, though he’s beyond that ilvl just setting an example) or genos(1445) in your party raid If you not sure what that reference is it is from one punch man.
I mean you don’t have to do anything when the time comes and it will SG will just hand out the gear in some progression pass event for w/e fotm class is coming out for w/e 3month behind content where finally getting. So yea you don’t.
They will probably even on that progression pass have a node that lights up after you do “insert w/e thing they want” that just gives you the clown mats need to get lvl2. etc, etc…
its litterally the same content for roughtly the same gear, feels like I’m repeating the same quest twice. This is why I never did clown because it doesn’t do anything in terms of progression. Rather park my character and come back when new content is out while picking up where i left off. New esther stuff is unattainable for F2P so why even attempt to work towards it. Seems like waste of time if I can just wait it out till the next major patch.
feels redundant, we litterally grinded out material for gear from the brel raids now they want us to do it all again for a small increase in dmg along a reskin of the same gear and for materials esther weapon which 99% of the player base will never obtain. Call me crazy but that doesn’t sound like fun.
I like to play the raids in general, so i dont care about the gear in general. But i agree with uwu_whiskey here. If you dont care about the raid itself or the increased gold, it doesnt matter. Honing past 1590(+20) is worse than waiting for akkan gear, isnt it?
I am not sure tho about the set lvl 3, if you need brel ancient to upgrade it later on in the abyss dungeon. Then again it doesnt matter since we get Akkan gear.
It is for the whales to help the f2p/soft whale/etc progress. It is like a luxury that everyone wants but don’t need. If you have enough alts to farm clown g3 for that esther energy then luck is still on your side.
You will need the lv2 set to upgrade later your set to lv3. Lv2 (from Clown) makes also your set stronger. If you have a supp inBrel lv without Lv2 set you are basically the definition of cheapo
I’m not sure but I dont think you NEED the Ancient Gear per Say to upgrade into the Akkan. You can get to AKKAN levels with the Breal Relic set since 1590 is +20 (The artifact gear only takes you up to 1615 at +25). However you will NOT be able to upgrade your set bonus from level 2 to level 3 until you have the full set of ancient gear.
looks like we will be getting Elgacia and Akkan sooner than expected, so i think people should actually take brel hm seriously if they wanna get out of her “jail”.
With Kayangel now counting as a legion raid , people will easily be able to replace brel with Akkan/Kayangel. So the sooner they finish their ancient stuff the better.
did they already have a release for it scheduled? doesnt seem like even for lvl 3 upgrade its all that much of a difference only 5% increase in dmg and 4% increase for yearning buff. v3.4 Saintone's Lost Ark Guide - Google Docs
If anyone feels like few % is game changing then you should open a complaint thread on esther weapon being unattainable for 99% of players.
dont have to worry about gate keeping too much, play in guild with rl friends and main supports. just want to be able to pick up where I left off without being too far behind when akkan is out.
easier ways of making gold, been flipping fish churn out 100k every couple of weeks, everything over 500k i dump into blue crystals, sitting on like 13k crystal buying random stuff for strong hold at this point lol
The point of any game is to have fun. If he feels like HM Brel is a bit too much its totally fine. But as already stated you need to do it till you have the ancient set for future content.
Looking at future content id even say its easier than HM Brel( even though it got nerfed hard already cause even the korean playerbase got overwhelmed). Aside from that every raid is its own thing. Maybe Akkan is more to his liking.
