Sorry to say, but this post by AGS pretty much feels like same post, different date.
Making that comparison is ridiculous to begin with. Korea didn’t launch with Tier 3 either, Lost Ark was an entirely different game. This is where the dissonance sets in and you see how off the mark Smilezon is, it doesn’t matter what worked in Korea. The job of a publisher and our SG developers is to figure out what works here, in NA/EU.

It should come as a shock to nobody that AGS is complicit in lying and dragging their heels until they lose all their players, that’s been their long term strategy since well before new world. Again, over five billion dollars, ten years, not one long term success story.

Maybe they’re tanking LA to open up way for New World, they did get a roadmap before us.
People float this idea but honestly I don’t think it particularly matters. Amazon will keep New World alive out of pride as long as they can, their lord and savior tweeted about it. What will begin to matter is when Amazon Games Studios as a division, is noticed as a sunk cost by Amazon proper, and they decide it’s not worth the money. Bezos is a personal friend of Frazinni, I’d love to be a fly on the wall of one of their video games discussions now that Mike said fuck it.
That’s probably not going to happen. They can take the L and try to slowly build it up, especially if it does hurt their competition in any way at all. They have the money to do that.
Right, but they’re going to have to make a lot of changes that cost a lot of jobs, time and money and the final product may or may not be called Amazon Games Studios by the time they’re comfortably profitable.
Not an expert but isn’t Amazon obsessed with making things have it’s name in it? Like i imagine if they bought Activision instead of Microsoft they’d change the name to Amazovision.

I always wondered why they would keep their name for their gaming division, gamers do not want WalMart developed video games, why would we want ones from Amazon? They should have come up with some other name.

This is true for helmet options too. Both hrothgar and bunny girls weren’t able to have some helm skins be visible due to their heads not being coded to work with the helmet artwork.
And Squenix still released them only to retroactively program it and make more hat skins visible. It wasn’t ideal but it was much better than withholding the races from from being released for a year.

People cries, if you don’t…people cries…so they will do with their business what they see appropriate and profiting, regardless of how much tears they get from a certain game population. So there is always someone who feels the move they make is wrong or too soon.
