Is this game dying or has it been dead?

There seem to be a lot less players… like on Karta there’s 0 ppl doing GS 1490 on a saturday

Some part of “active” players prolly chaos boters got banned on 22nd march and quite few statics dropped, then ppl lost friends to play with and at the end of the day game like this will drop to low amount of active players to a certain point, but there will always be enough addicts to continue fomoing

What exactly is 1490 content for you?

Check the activity on the forum.
Check the activity in grp finder for current(!) content.

Dead? No.

I can only speak from the NAE perspective but it seems pretty healthy to me. Just did a bunch of Kunga’s and about to start my calilis.

Not dead. Well over 100k players. Some regions do have lower populations though.

Not dead, just dying. You can check steam chart for more detail numbers

Lost Ark can coast on it’s slowly dwindling population for a good long time to come yet.

Plus we’re in a content drought on a long holiday weekend (for some) and many of us are stockpiling rested for Monkey and new Chaos and enjoying a short homework break.

100K concurrent divided by 5 regions divided again by 10ish servers per region and you can see where each individual server might feel a little empty at times.

I never said 100k concurrent players

Take the final number per server above, divide it again by half or so and you have your player:bot ratio

Lost Ark has yet to suffer a massive title release since it’s come to NA/EU. Regardless what our personal opinions on any of these games are, BP D4 and T&L are all going to chunk the crap out what’s left of LA’s players.

Not because any one of these games is better than the other, but simply because LA content loop is extremely boring and something new and shiny will pull them away regardless.

I’m inclined to disagree. More because I think the playerbase that is in Lost ark right now are very much stuck in Lost Ark for what it offers. We might see lower numbers initially but even then I think they’ll just cut back time in lost ark but still jump in to do dailies on a few characters and raid. And really at that point do we consider them “lost” players?

I don’t think the current Lost Ark playerbase would be that interested in going to D4 beyond just playing through the campaign. We’ve seen basically no drop from the new PoE league that started and while D4 has a wider draw I don’t think it’ll dislodge that much more, especially with how mid the beta was.

BP has the potential to draw more away just because it has a much larger investment period from the playerbase but I really don’t expect much from it. The gameplay does not look at all appealing and there just isn’t enough data on how the endgame loop will work to make a good opinion on that game.

We know literally nothing about T&L and I just have such little faith in the AGS/NCSOFT coalition. I’m holding judgement on it just because we know so little but NCSoft just fills me with all of the heebie jeebies

Yup only time will tell, but it is fair to say quite a number of players are only holding on because there simply isn’t anything else out there right now they want to play.

It’s hard to stay motivated repeat killing the same 3 bosses each week 6 times a week and we’re coming into another 4 months of “Just more Brel”. It’s already hard on the folks I play with to stay motivated, and each one of them will at least try whatever new comes out.

One thing I have learned about LA, if you can get away from the game for a couple weeks and break that sunk cost, you almost never come back. Very few players look at LA as a game you can easily return to later just due to how it’s designed.

I don’t think it is dead. It is not growing as much as it sure.

There are wayyyyy lest parties. Somehow still a lot of bus parties. Most might be just carrying bots

Also, the engraving price is not going back up. That is also a sign that there just isn’t much/any new players coming in. The engraving price will keep dropping. Current players don’t need them. Most current players already have their 6 gold earners as well by now

If they want more players coming. They really need to reduce the homework. Most people just want to raid.

Chaos and guardian daily need to reduce
Cube and boss weekly also need to go away
Also the challenge guardian need to be removed!!
3 raid per toon, is also too much. Change that to 2.

Has not much to do with less players, but with the fact we had like 2 months of frog and also many people were holding back the engravings which came out there and selling them now.
Also with that high amount of additional engravings coming into the market, much people now just have their engravings on legendary, so market is saturated.

Also this will never happen, since this is the business model of the game.
In general what you can buy with real money in this game is: TIME!

If you need less time in general to keep up there is no need for people to cash.

And as long as this game is F2P (and here I mean no monthly costs) and as long as there are 100 out of 10000 players who spend more money into this game than 10000 players would with a monthly fee, then I have some bad news for you.

The thing like games Throne and Ashes are PvP base games. Like New World. I gues the PvE part is nothing special and after i grind the hell out of it im geting bored.

I hate PvP so much. D: Thats why i love Games like WoW/FF14/LA Main Focus is PvE

Yeah I’m not much for PVP games myself, at least not forced PVP.

Ashes def. will have something for everyone in some way or another, Thone who knows yet.

For sure I played WoW/Rifts/FF but I also played Meridian '59, DAoC, DarkFall, etc.

PVP can exist and the game can still be good, it just has to be done in a way where you can choose to engage in it or not and if not, sitll have other avenue’s in the game to progress.

Its at least 2 years before either of these comes out.

Ashes no one knows. Devs: it comes then its finished.

Riot: no clue

Yup we’re just talking shop, it’s why I didn’t mention Riot or Ashes originally.

BP/D4 and Throne will all be out within the next couple months.
