I have been reading the forums for a while now, and the big topics are always about
“Ark is dying all the players are leaving”
“Honing is terrible, the dead zone is unbearable”
“The devs are greedy for cash and ark is P2W”
"The game is being taken over by skynet
"
Well those are all very valid and very significant issues in lost ark, especially since people on the forums think that way, causing negativity and dissatisfaction that will cause more people to leave.
So… What would you propose to address these issues? I am not defending AGS or SG here, I genuinely want to know what ideas you guys have to make the game better.
TLDR: What ideas do you have to solve these issues?
Now to start rambling.
For starters:
In order to convince the devs to update the honing system, we need to give them suggestions of alternatives, that will not only allow the game to feed us content at a consistent and appropriate rate, but also allows the devs enough time to create new content.
A deadzone usually happens to slow players down while new content is being made, but its strange to have one on NA/EU as there is already content available.
Buffing current honing system from 1340 to 1370 right now will be very disappointing for those who are already at 1370+ gear score and pushed through those barriers either with time or money. If we buff the honing rates too early, the whales no longer whale in the future in fear of changes like these and long story cut short, and the game dies without their source of income.
Ideally they should’ve just removed the dead zone when the game released but its a bit late to change that, so what solutions do you have now?
- How do you address deadzones that are outdated? (Other than the current solution of catchup events such as the grand prix)
Second:
Ark is P2W… What does P2W mean though? Before the price crash, to gain a noticeable advantage you would need to pay alot of money, which not many people can do. So the high price would dissuade most light spenders from spending money to gain an advantage, which hence means less number of people spending money to win. If people need to spend hundreds or thousands to gain any advantage over a F2P isnt the game not P2W? The nature of a currency exchange also prevents whales from causing sudden changes to the game as multiple whales trying to buy gold at once will have to bid with each other, driving prices up and making blue crystals cheaper for a F2P, which should be a good thing for a F2P. The currency exchange works as a control of how much a whale can spend, adjusted based on the amount of gold in the economy, and how attractive it is to spend on the game.
2. Do you have a better system to discourage P2W behaviour while allowing AGS and smilegate to profit from the game?
Lastly the bots.
The bots cant be stopped the same way they were in korea. One way is to add a price tag to the game, which adds a barrier to people who want to try out the game. Whether the benefits outweigh the costs… Well seeing AGS’s actions I dont think they felt it was worth it. If you tried to hire mods to remove every single bot in the game you would run out of time and money. Bots cant be stopped by humans. An algorithm could possibly work, but if it derps and randomly bans people that would suck.
3. Do you have any ideas that would be cost effective and adaptable to combat the bot issue?
I have my own ideas but thats for another post. I would love to hear what ideas you guys have. The better your ideas, the higher the chances that the devs will listen and implement them. From epic seven, I personally believe smilegate does listen to its player base and tries to change things for the better.
