Issues with Punika

Arriving to Punika was not fun. The tier 2 grind was awful. And yet, I am about to have a fifth account in tier 3 by the end of the week. So what’s the problem?

“My favorite color! Red!”

Those words echo in my head nonstop. As if that wasn’t enough, I now greet all my friends with “Lailai!”.

And speaking of Lailai, I have learned how to do the Lailai dance in real life. Something about it has infected my brain; seeing the vigorous knee shaking move hypnotized my brain. It intoxicated and aggravated me night and day until I learned how to Lailai in real life.

Now that I am a master of Lailai, I have begun to learn how to Sway dance as well. If I ever get to learning how to Umarka, I do fear for my safety.

Yes and it’s actually very easy; it only took me maybe 20-30 minutes to learn. Although, I will sya that I learned the female version, because apparently the male and female dance version of Lailai are different. I didn’t know this until I tried Lailai on my Gunlance the other day and mentally noted, “this looks different”. That being said, the female Lailai is more fun (imo) because I enjoy the stepping motions more, but the hip gyration and arm motions with the male Lailai is fun too. Lailai!

Zosma balls. Account is wrong word, mentally I meant to say character. Oopsies.

Punika in general is low-effort.

The maps are tiny and linear like a modern FPS game, the abyssals are goofy things like a clown and that swinging ball guy they reused a bunch of times, the main city has none of the detail of other cities like Feiton’s or Yorn’s, there’s no big epic moment like a castle siege or demon gates opening up all over. No cinematic camera work in the city, no grand entrances, no depth with multi-layered geometry, it’s like they just needed something quick and asked the interns.

Was a big disappointment that didn’t measure up to the standard set by the rest of the game. The worst part is we spend the most time here.

I really thought you were going to say “I smell blood”. By the 3rd time playing the zone I wanted to tell that sad little emo girl to shut to hell up every time she spoke. By the 4th time I wanted to throw my head phones. By the 5th time I was seriously considering another hobby

Lai Lai!

There’s some girl near where Liru is standing who screeches “wheeeee” and it’s just offensive to the ear. The worst part is she only does this if you directly load into that area (e.g. when you go to your stronghold/trixion and come back). I always forget about it and cringe when I get blasted in the ear.

i think they were just trying something different. i liked the change of pace but yeah, the novelty faded away like a month ago. at least south vern was somewhat epic
