Who need alts?
Normal F2P players like me, I had bought 36000 royal crystals, but mainly used on skins, mounts, character expansions etc. I had bought Ark pass and Punika Growth Pack, but I will never consider to exchange golds to buy honing materials at the auction house.

You don’t need alts. It does help for efficiency and progress or if you want to try other characters and be able to partake in more content each week.
This would be true if you are only taking progress into consideration. Yes, alts does help f2p if your goal is to keep up with whales… but why are you competing with whales or other players to begin with? Ah, I forgot that fomo was a real thing.
That said, regardless of most optimal progress or not… I feel the whales actually have more alts than f2p. Why? They tend to like the game more to be willing to ‘invest’ in it and spend more time on it. I feel like it’s rare to find whales in KR playing only one or two characters. Similar to my other f2p friends, I usually play about 2 characters a week while my whale-ish friend plays about 8 characters a week.

vern powerpass is so useless it’s literally just 600 gold.
That’s the main difference between KR/CH and the other countries. A successful BU model here stops there, on the inventory, skins, monthly sub, pets , mounts, char slots … while in KR that’s just the beginning. That’s why games like ESO, FF, guild wars are still the kings here while this crap mobile game will become a niche later on. It’s unbelievable how a whale here is someone who buy all the shop skins for fashion collection while there in KR he’s just a poor idiot. Fu the guy who invented the first videogame on a phone and players dropping money on them as they made these companies more and more greed everyday. 20k for a legendary gem in Diablo , you are completely out of control…

No shit. we get 0 gold and everything takes 1 year to go through. I’ll gladly have multiple characters if the characters are something I want to play or if I can boost through the dogshit parts of the game. But you can’t, so there’s no point in having an alt. And that’s on top of people already hating the concept of alt characters.
there are many benefits to having alts though cannot deny that. you are exaggerating quite a bit, a new player using the 1302 express event will be able to get to T3 in about 2 weeks. and they can use the vern and feiton power passes if they want to play alts.
Even RMT and whales needs alts.
They just push them higher. The game is pretty much done after you cleared the legion raids… would be a waste if you push one char on 15xx+ and then, run Vykas/Valtan/argos in 1h just to wait another 7 days.
Thats what alts are for, playing the content a bit more often.
Many LA players are WOW casual andies that main 1 char or FFXIV players where 1 character can play every job so they hate the concept of alts
One of the forum mods did, but not Roxx or Shadow_Fox. It was someone who rarely posts (might not even be here any more). They were responding to a particular poster trying to discuss how severe RMT bans should be in general (even though mods don’t influence that).
And then repeated ad-nauseum (often) out of context.
As for the topic of using alts more – If it was available, I would have purchased Power Passes for at least 4 of my T1 alts by now.
I want to see how they work out in T3 in real situations and do things like theorycrafting, but can’t bring myself to slog through T1 again.
Also don’t want to spend like a couple thousand gold and a week of real time waiting for knowledge transfers to finish one by one overnight.
Yeah it’s this comment, but he/she isn’t a mod anymore. It might be because of the backlash this comment had.
selling any mats 
they were all extremely inflated, making gold has gotten a lot harder over time actually except through raids which are weekly.
you could basically make double the gold you can now just before june 16th when they finally did smth about the bots and even that gold was a tiny fraction of the gold you could make selling t3 mats all the way at the start, or even just t2 mats.
FFXIV job design is top tier mate, no waste of time with alts unless that is your thing or for roleplaying.
WoW…well yeah, the thing with WoW is you go full sweat lord or you go casual it has no middle ground, though I havent played it for more than a month straight per expansion since the times it was good(WotLK).
making alts and getting them to a decent ilvl in west ark takes too much time and effort…or money if you are a paypig…and for a lot of people investing that amount of time into a game that has the ominous aura of doom that west ark has just doesnt feels right, it feels like this version of LA can always get worse…so why bother?

Even now, it’s helpful to new players, they just pass the main storyline and push their main char to lv 302, where can they make 1200g to get two T1 alts? These two free T1 alts is also useful to these new players.
I have seen a lot of guys with on 15xx , but with very low roster lv.
Low roster lv. means no or little alts , right?
Isnt’ the main point of having many high alt is to do Legion raid/Abyss raid only char at end game. We are just at the tip of the iceberg and once you reach HW level on all your alt isnt that just 30 mins on each alt per per legion raid each week for massive gain?
