Oh no, everyone needs honing buffs. That’s what the game is about. They’re also called your roster. Each one gives you honing buffs. You want to reach 1370? Get your weapon to +20? Well, like Britney says - you better work, bitch.
Not even a tiny bit. Honing/progression rate is the most common non-bot complaint and is the most common cause of players quitting.
You’re confusing people tolerating a system with that system being successful.
Game is great. The honing system being toxic and predatory and the rate of progression being idiotic and detrimental to the game’s health doesn’t have anything to do with the core systems.
If they give honing buff I would have to spend more time kicking noobs from my Valtan HM groups because there would be more people in that bracket.
I don’t really mind if they add honing buffs or not but I believe it’s still too soon.
The majority of players are busy playing the game. Only a small fraction of the player base is active on the forums or reddit. That is literally what a minority is.
They already gave super express, idk what else he needa to get to t3
Your opinion is what they should’ve done from the start. It would’ve allowed to alrdy be one raid further and let people actually enjoy various classes in various content while slowly pushing up.
Like this now all those “relaxed” players have quit longtime ago and you’re left with nolifers who won’t quit this game anyway anymore and whales.
All those people “some hundred hours” have likely 1k+ hours at this point, basically refusing to let new players be able to “enjoy” the content without all of that “hard work” cuz “can’t hand everything for free” mentality.
But hey, having mainly bots and a 100k playerbase is enough. Question is just when will those last still pushing 8alts all day players lose their hype spirits. Probably sooner than later.
I agree 1340 to 1370 should be improoved but the other lvls are fine since you have something to do and learn on them.
I remember how confusing everything was when i reached T3.
Once you get used to it is okey but it was a lot to learn.
Adventure islands (can claim gold and no gold one on weekends), gems (reroll till get 1 better even if it is repeated sell for gold and buy the other with gold, tripods (where do i put the thing that will dissapear better not be the +12 weapon), pvp vendor, guild vendor, ship vendor, loopang, etc.
The pace is okey for them to learn everything this game has so they don’t mess up on raids later
How’d you figure that one out? I’d love to see some numbers for your made up statistics.
The majority of players have quit the game, and most of them quit due to honing. And I don’t know why I would expect you to suddenly stop arguing in bad faith, but someone not voicing their displeasure on the forums doesn’t mean that displeasure doesn’t exist.
I do this crazy thing called talking to people and paying attention to what they and others say.
You still expect anyone to take you seriously after that? Please, just stop now.
Play on your own pace.
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry over that statement.
The only thing I can control in relation to this game is to start it or not, everything else in this game is decided by RNGesus. ![]()
I’m actually at 1365 with over 300 failed hones.
Others are 1415+ with less than 300 fails.
This mechanic is simply cheeky and discourages players from playing the current content.
You expect anyone to take you seriously with your blatant hypocrisy? You’re trying to brush aside an accurate recounting of discussion surrounding the game just because I don’t have a comprehensive survey to reinforce it, and yet you are simultaneously implicitly asserting that no hard data to the contrary means that no one has an issue with the honing system. More data is better than less data, but you are being utterly disingenuous to pretend that it’s impossible to have a finger on the pulse of the community without having done an exhaustive study.
I’ll happily welcome concrete data, but I’m not going to pretend that I don’t already have a good idea of the general sentiments with regards to various systems. A study would pin down things precisely, but it’s not going to turn out that most people actually enjoy honing and were instead quitting over how overly social the game was.
Nah breh, I just hit 1415 on my main and 1340 on 4 alts with 262 honing failures because I’m more skilled than you. If you spent less time on the forums and more time gitting gud you could have two Valtan kills under your belt like professional video game players such as myself. I bet you don’t even have some superstitious bullshit you do when honing to guarantee success. Amateur hour over here.
Other issue I find is that a lot of guilds just don’t do Argos anymore, they leave the gearing of alts to pug runs now… so a lot of groups just clear phase 1 and bounce.
This creates a lack in progression for a lot of people, or the progression gets slowed way down to months to get a full set.
It just seems the nature of the beast now with the fact the game doesn’t draw in new players to really fill out the lower ranks, sorta a bummer imo, the game is a lot of fun, but the gap in players who started at launch and players who may want to give it a try is far to large currently and takes to long to bridge.
I would love to try out the later endgame content, but without going all hardcore and searching for a guild who would want to do that lower tier content with alts isn’t really rewarding enough to put up with.
with how toxic these forums are… this could be a serious post.
Being super sarcastic there. The honing system is toxic and predatory and leaving the progression (when it’s tied to the ability to even participate in content) of players heavily up to RNG is gigashit, toxic game design. Beyond that, the fact that our content is releasing at an accelerated rate without commensurate progression assistance is outright stupidity, let alone plentiful means to catapult actual new players to the main bubble. Stratifying the playerbase is one of the worst possible things you can do to a game with a social layer, and yet even people who have played since release couldn’t guarantee 1415 by the release of Valtan unless they played the game like a second job. Whoever came up with the game plan for rolling LA out in the West is an incompetent chimp.
I was excited about it too but that buff is meh.
South Vern gives a lot of mats but you go through them so fast, it does not feel like a lot at all.
Because it isn’t a lot of mats at all. It’s a pittance. Few thousand guardian and less of destruction is nothing.
Boohoo, people don’t like honing. Guess what? I don’t like it either. No one does. But do you know what I do like? When I can finally reach those item level breakpoints after putting in that effort to grind. If you don’t like it, just swipe. Don’t got money? Work for it. Can’t do either? Whine some more how you can’t get instant gratification.
1365 with over 300 isn’t bad, I am 1462.5, can’t count my fails anymore since I completed the achievment LONG AGO
