I’m on the fence on whether or not these “mistakes” were due to incompetence or malice(greedy profit driven) But some changes vs korea are clearly profit driven and have hurt the game.
What I don’t understand is that they had a winning formula that made a ton of money in other regions, and now with the servers in NA/EU, they had the opportunity of the century in making so much money with so many players LONG TERM, but they decided to throw that opportunity away just to make a quick buck now. Sure they will always make money, but they have lost a lot of players they could have slowly milked over time with skins rather than burn out players now that have quit.
Now the game is fundamentally broken with bots, the economy is nuts and no one knows what is going on or expected since we have no roadmap.
I agree the bots are an issue. A huge issue. I complain about it too but have to hope they are working on it. When they did the last ban wave a lot of legit players got caught up in that so we know they were doing bannings.
I have mixed feelings about the rest. Maybe because I approach games differently “exclusivity” or clearing new content is meaningless to me. I haven’t spent a dime trying to advance my character but on plenty of other things.
Is “exclusivity” really that important to enough people they would design content releases around “milking” whales?
One of the more annoying takes too is that people link Korean mat prices…without stopping to think of what kind of content is being played compared to our content.
I’m a currency hoarder that sold everything on the way to T3 in a decent amount of time, so I at least have a chance at leveling my character without pulling out a card…new players though?
I must disagree to the fact that it his only a cash grabbing game, (Im from Lineage II, I know what you mean) but lemme say this…it’s literally the most beautiful RPG and YES I say RPG and not MMORPG cuz this game made me literally feel at some points like it was not an Online game…made me feel like I was playing WoW, or L2, or Diablo, or Final Fantasy…the creators of this game created a MASTERPIECE. This game might have all the bots…all the money making schemes…but please remember this about the game, it’s the best of its kind for years to come. Believe my words…nothing will come close in another 5 years or 10. But I totally understand you, they killed Lineage 2 the same way…
Another quit post, but cant deny that you are correct in your stances of honing and mat sources, Roadmap, and as someone said in the comment,
just makes me sad this happen, i dont know much about it, but sometimes i wish there was no publisher, just the original game and devs doing the work in our region, publisher always shit on the game, talking about other games from KR that were really good, but when it came here the publisher also fucked the game to the ground sadly
Of course it is. The entire business model is built around whales, like in a mobile game. Plenty of people get addicted and want it now, want to be ahead, want to be exclusively in the top, and are very competitive. In fact, gaming tends to attract many people with this personality type.
Wow so many things wrong with the game…and im just sitting here in the deadzone enjoying the game, climbing to 1370 day by day, playing a game i waited several years to come after 1 trailer i Saw back in the day, slowly wasting my life on it AS i would in any other game lol. But this one IS the one to sit at for a long run
They know that we know, but they can’t officially say “hey guys, yes we like your money more than you and we’ll make everything we can to force you give em all to us”
This is a whale game like any KR game out there, everything will be made around that. It hurts seeing a western company with a very high reputation like Amazon falling down so hard and approve a such horrible business model for the big milk, mainly when they don’t lack money at all.
AS i would in any other game lol. But this one IS the one to sit at for a long run
