This was made public at the very start of March. It came across terribly at the time, and it still holds true to this day as to how they tackle RMTers, despite Roxx saying they would reconsider the way they handle severity over time:
When asked why RMTers weren’t being put into negative gold pretty recently, we got this response:
Before doing anything to tackle the public image surrounding RMT suspensions, to at least TRY and deter people from spending on RMT websites, they did the whole VPN thing. It actually baffles me how they’ve been so relaxed when it comes to actually punishing people who use 3rd party sources to buy gold within the game. Had they done more to at least make it look like they were going to give worthwhile punishments when this was first brought up on March 1st, it’s very likely we wouldn’t have remotely close to the same amount of bots as we see today.
My suggestion: Retroactively set gold to negative for people who have already been suspended. Perma ban anyone detected moving forward as a 1st step.
