Hello. As one of the ones that got sent to the gulag for a month over this, allow me to enlighten you with the story. It all started when Illyaeater and a few others were wanting to know if the demon form was bugged or not and were asking for clarification for about a month or two. What we got was this as a response from leadership passed onto us by Roxx:
I made one post critical of their reasoning, which then got removed for being spam, highlighting how the reasoning made no sense. (Still have screenshots of that post since it is still saved on my account if any are interested in a read).
I also requested that, rather than forcing the change onto players, if they could instead include the files for the original demon form as an optional DLC (like the Korean voice pack) for players to download. That way, if players wanted to keep the new ‘westernized’ version, they could, whereas those who wanted the original version could simply download the files and bam, both sides happy.
Unfortunately, all of my posts that made that request got nuked from the forums. What ultimately got me my temp ban is linked in my profile.
So, that’s the story. And if I get banned again, YA’LL KNOW WHY !
I got banned for talking about this. literally 1 month banned I couldnt use the forms. This is a VERY touchy topic for the CMs here so be careful. They get really upset when people talk about it.
I think at this point if they’re still trying to ban people for this when everyone has always been genuinely trying to just ask for either options for the original assets or providing feedback when the whole of this version of the game is currently burning down due to bots and rmt, they’re just lost.
They really, really, really do not like people bringing this up. I do not know why, especially since I think the idea of DLC’s files containing the original form is the best and honestly, fair way, in handling it.
Especially when I linked the video where Gold River stated that they wanted to give Shadowhunter’s a way to customize their form. So, regardless of the whole ‘see better’ argument, if the option becomes available to customize your form, then their whole point of making the change to begin with is moot.
They literally banned me from the game for posting about these things so I’m pretty aware of it, I just think it’s stupid. You’re trying to hide things like this while the game is literally burning into a crisp because of much bigger problems? It was inexcusable even 3 months ago, but now it would just make 0 sense at all.
It’s like they’re playing those movie games like until dawn and making the worst choices at every turn. Why is it so hard to do the right thing? I’d love to get a glimpse into the corporate world of these games to see why everything is always messed up.
Isnt “cancellation” just a way for big company that side with the “good thinking” (for money obviously) to use the plebs and eliminate concurrence ?
It’s one of the best trick ever invented i think.
I mean, you get the low life into thinking they are in something big, and their view of things is taken in account, when in the end, bigger up just get more money, and people to use, while getting a good public image.
In the end, things like racism/cancellation are always on the side of money, not ethics.
Insane how CM’s silence any concerns about the change. OP had good points and articulated their points well. Instead of getting proper response, they get banned. Utterly ridiculous.
