Why people keep saying Artist is less support than the rest? Do you even know how the class works?
She works also the same as bards, she marks bosses same as sound shock, she leave damage increase zones like sonic vibration. She even use bubbles like bards to heal allies.
Her heals have the highest potential, just they need to be picked up by party members, that they don’t because tunnel vision in boss fights (same problem with drops of ether engraving).
The only difference with the other support classes is that she can maintain the attack buffs, even a bit better than pally, just a little bit.
In the end she does the same than other support classes.
Also as a reminder she is fairly a new class, don’t expect people to master a class in two months was it?
Funny enough, the old MMO I played had a really bad “Looking for support” situation in the game, to the point where the Devs/community managers had to literally give out free gear/equipment so more people would play support classes.
I’ll eventually gear a support out but right now I simply don’t have the funds.
You cannot fix this issue as it is rooted in psychology and game design. It doesn’t matter which change you put in from other regions (like solo DPS increase), support will never remotely near where they need to be for representation.
In KR people wait for 30 mins for support and if they can’t get one they invite Gunlancer instead.
Tldr is: People want to DPS, not support. It’s been like this in every game ever.
As 1370+ bard main I would rather be able to do abyss every day multiple times than do guardian raids and chaos. Maybe they could also let priority classes have multiple entries and get rewarded a little for playing it too (since will take silver and gold to pay for repair and pots as well)
Not sure what server you are on, but honestly, do argos on thursday/friday and you won’t have this problem, these dungeons can only be done once… why would ppl wait to do them?
I would change Increases Mass with Spirit Absorbation. I am running blessed aura - awakening-expert-spirit absorb. But my items are more spec, the swift stuff are very very expensive in my server.
Slamming a hammer into a piano is most certainly not solved by the voice pack. I main her and I would say its a well known issue her obnoxious sounds turn many people off. There is no melody or harmony, its just pure, ugly dissonance. No its not going to stop me from playing her but I’m not going to pretend the sounds are just fine. They’re easily the worst by a very large margin and a pretty common reason people just pass on her.
great. so you would have people complaining that they get no support classes in parties, and yet. they dont even bother making a support class in the first place. also, theres always ppl complaining how support class are ass, so please, stfu for a sec and think about why majority of the mmorpg lacks support in the first place. majority of the people in the game only wants to do damage and nothing more. I’m a bard main and I choose which party that I want to join without wasting 1-2 hour of my time to pass the content with bunch of idiots who just wants to pass the raids without knowing any of the mechanics and decides to blame the support for not saving their asses.
Yes, please! I have a hard time bringing myself to play male characters in MMOs. I tend to only play classes that align with my gender. I wanna try out Paladin too, but HE BIG BUFF MALE xD
Just built 3x4 on my Paladin today and oh boy, I feel like a literal god. Having 4 different DPS classes sitting at 1340 and nothing comes even close.
Sure thing the initial cost sucked (looking at you, 20x leg. Expert books) but now I have the peace of mind from not having to deal with 66 stones ever again.
You definitely become super tanky with the support engravings and your support kit. Not to mention nearly constant uptime on your beneficial spells, its not like you are ever out of your own buffs or shields. I agree it does feel good to simply eat some attacks that squish some others.
You don’t have to buy super crazy jewelry. 3/3 is affordable enough for even an alt. With epic engravings equipped and a 6/6 stone (which are both very reasonable overall) you open up your other five pieces of jewelry. The minimum entry is actually pretty low for a support because all your core support is baked into your abilities. Obviously engravings will make you better but only the sweatiest groups are going to be turning away a 3/3 support when they have been sitting in party finder for twenty minutes.
3/3 isn’t prohibitively expensive for anyone. 3/3/3 is more expensive but can be accomplished probably the cheapest if you look for +3 class jewelry, but the only people dropping these items are other supports. Beyond this it does get significantly more expensive but then we are talking support main(ish) territory.
As long as you are 3/3 and majority epic swiftness/specialization or even a little bit of endurance on an otherwise well-rolled accessory and you have a spot. This really is the bare minimum and it isn’t really unfair or incredibly expensive.
This isn’t unique to supports though. Any high level group would likely turn you away if you have some random soup of stats, regardless of your class.
Honestly I genuinely enjoy playing both the supports but I generally finish my weekly abyss the night after reset on both of them. I am out of the pool again until next week seeing groups struggle to find supports.
Hate my bard solo, like it in groups. Agreed tough to level and do tower content etc, im sure some will just say get good but honestly its a drag to lvl them
I have 1420 Bard 3333 Engraving Swift
1377 Paladin 33331 Engraving Swift
I can join the Argos P3 party with Paladin.
At the same time, all parties were looking for support as well as Gunlancer as support.
Unless people make support as their alt, this issue won’t be solved in the near future.
For sure, there will be a lot of supporters without normal engraving and stat, and it will make more troubles between players.
