btw, if you start the mission and can’t find the letter which is referenced in the quest…it’s in the quest item inventory

ok so I am to the part where it states Read the letter left behind by Edwin…yet I have no letter. Any advice?

Works for me mate thanks. one problem though. I can’t select Edwin as a crew member… im about to send a crew out without him to see if it passes but thats 10 hours out…

Mine says “Read the letter,” but there’s no letter I can see, nothing attached to the quest, nothing in mail, etc.

Late to your post here, but I think I have the solution.

Check your Quest Items. I know you linked it in your initial post but it appears that you have the letter there. For anyone else experiencing this issue, open your inventory and click the “quest items” in the bottom left. Read the letter there.

for me I completed the special mission but the quest is not completed … any idea why ?
Edit : NVM I had to choose Raid not chaos dungeon

Need some help or ideas here because this is totally stuck for me.

Problem: Legendary Monster Slayer Quest Stuck

Quest reads:
"Ctrl 1 Select the Dispatch Station at the top of the screen. Send a special mission through the Dispatch Station.
Description “Will Edwin be able to safely leave for the raid?”

When I try to select the first Tier 1 raid it said progress conditions not met. He is not available for the crew. I have been stuck on this for a week. I re-ran every raid again just to make sure it wasn’t that.

  • I have no letter in my quest items box.
  • I have opened all Tier 1-4 raids and they all show up available for the Special Dispatch but there is no quest for me to send him out. There is no Edwin to put on the boat either.
  • I dropped/accepted the quest again - same issue.
  • I already re-validated all the steam files.

Any help appreciated. I also submitted a help ticket via Amazon.

I was having the same problem but after going mad I found this solution, don’t do any guardian raids then send them out and it should work because it takes up 1 of your 2 attempts

If anybody else has the this issue, my wife and I were playing and she had 300+ item level and I only had 290 something. As soon as I got over 300 item level (bought some gloves at the market broker) and received the quest ‘Strengthen gear by honing!’ I was able to receive the dispatch mission.

I had already finished multiple chaos dungeons and could not figure out why the special dispatch mission was not showing up. Hopefully it helps somebody.

Hey folks, hoping if anyone can help me as I’m having the same issue.

  • 1k item lvl, have completed all guardian raids and chaos dungeons up to my item lvl (I’ve finished up to the Feiton main questline)
  • Dispatch Station at lvl 2
  • Completed all available stronghold request except “Legendary Monster Slayer”
  • Have the same objective as OP (CTRL - 1 to send special mission through the Dispatch Station)
  • Have performed a normal mission. I don’t see any Special Missions in my Dispatch Station

For all of you asking, “how to add Edwin to the crew?” - there’s no need - dispatch a special mission, and you will progress in the quest (Edwin will join himself).

Thanks @ BuzzAntique and all who have addressed this issue.
Can confirm, Edwin does indeed “join himself”, no need to add him to the crew.
I had special missions available but was stumped that I couldn’t add Edwin as a crew member, nor did I have the letter in my Quest Items inventory. As soon as I dispatched a special mission, “Adorable Felix”, the Mokoko at the stronghold was highlighted on my mini map and I was able to progress.

Special dispatch tab BLANK
This is still broken, and not a single person has addressed this yet.

I have completed the following:

  • 1330 Item Level
  • Completed entire main questline
  • Completed all chaos dungeons and guardian raids up to T3
  • Stronghold level 8
  • Dispatch level 2
  • Tried abandoning the quest from Adventurer Edwin and reaccepting the quest from Adventurer Edwin
  • Dispatched a Normal Mission
  • checked quest inventory
