As stated VPN is against TOS. How is someone like ZealsAmbitions who lives in South Korea in the Legends of Lost Ark event. South Korea does not have access to purchase Lost Ark on Steam so is this not against TOS that he’s going to be playing it?
“You agree that you will not use IP proxying or other methods to disguise the place of your residence, whether to circumvent geographical restrictions on game content, to purchase at pricing not applicable to your geography, or for any other purpose. If you do this, Valve may terminate your access to your Account.”
Oh I know but he doesn’t reside there now right? The Steam TOS is more about residing in another country yet purchasing on an account not in that country.
I’ve nothing against Zeals, it’s more so Amazon games going against Steam TOS for this situation yet they said VPN is against TOS and can’t be used…
I see where you’re coming from. I suppose it is a grey area.
Now I honestly believe that because of the legitimacy of his account and steams ToS allowing those who travel to continue using the original region of origin of the created account that this then allows him to play regardless of location.
Now there’s also the content creator agreements which might provide some concessions to the ToS especially if it’s been agreed upon by AGS and SGR.
Having Zeals represent the game as a Korean player does more good than harm and he’s a big influence so I can see why an acception has been made.
