You haven’t seen me play deadeye.
higher roster = lower roster because it has no effect on a players skill.
most people with high roster are players that either
- leveled a bunch of alts to 1302 (and did all the quests manually)
- did collectables beyond the ones you need for skill points.
- cheesed the t1 or t2 tower too farm roster level.
- some combination of these.
at no point did anyone hit 150 roster because they cleared raids.
if a group wants someone that had cleared the raid on multiple alts they would look for the vykas’s title. otherwise all you have are the players gear to go off of.
and if someone has a full relic set (meaning they have cleared valtan and vykas enough times to complete it), that is enough of a sign they are potentially good enough to join a reclear
but roster level means nothing no matter how much people try to convince themselves otherwise.
I try not to judge too much on roster level but i have trust issues with people under 100 roster level. Especially when i see a 60 roster level in my p1 argos run
I hear you man , I always pugged in every mmo and it will always be cancerous, rage quitters and no lifers that think they are better than anyone cause they play video games 17 hours a day , now I make my own groups if i need to pug and add friendly players to friend list , there’s still some good peeps out there don’t give up !!
What other numbers are available for Party Leaders to measure your skill level?
All we have is ilvl and roster level.
How are we supposed to know that this Roster Level 80, ilvl 1460 is actually a god player?
We don’t. So we pick the bigger numbers instead because that’s all we have to go off of.
You look at it wrong though. It’s not that high roster = this guy is OP and will clear raids.
Low roster = this player is new, probably his only character, this means he CANNOT have raid experience on alts. Meaning you have to hope they didn’t buy a bus on their main and actually know what they are doing.
High roster = this guy plays for a longer time already! He most likely has alts. Since he raids on his main he probably got semi bored from just that and started raiding on his alts, so he must have some experience.
This is what roster means on a rough estimate level. There are always exceptions, but with strangers you are gambling, so you pick the safer option.
With reasoning such as those, it goes to show what kind of degenerates that play this game. If you are not willing to pour an excessive amount of hours into min-max the game like they are, then you are no good. How can a normal person keep up with these kind of people that glue themselves to the game?
The simple answer is, you can’t, unless you are willing to throw away your social life or any form of hobby aside from playing this game.
So what you are saying is, people who love the game and play from the start have no life, and you, casual andy coming in with roster level 50 is entitled to a spot next to said person and be carried for free by the nolifer who has put in more effort and time than you? So you want the same result for less time/effort spent? Did I sum that up correctly?
Poking fun at you aside, you can always create your own group with likewise people who do ‘‘have a life’’, shocking, I know right? Revolutionary! But that’s not what you want, you don’t want to spend 2000 hours wiping with people at your skill level. So that kind of makes you a hypocrite…
again how much you play doesnt matter.
because theres not a 1 to 1 translation of roster too relevant playtime.
most of the people with over 100 roster level gained most of it in a short amount of time doing extra content that has no effect on the rest.
which is my point you can be a very experienced player and be let say 70 roster level while someone else at the same level of experience could be 150 roster.
its like trying too gatekeep people based on pvp rank.
what matters most is how good there build is, did they take the time to make sure they had no red engravings. are they using a sensible build, is there stat ratio good. are there gem’s the right gems, does there card set benefit there class.
there are many many things you can look at that matter. roster level is not nor will it ever be one of those.
roster level is an estimate of how much time they spent collecting mokoko’s or leveling alts to 1302 and nothing else.
Re-read my post slowly. I never said high roster = skill. It’s only a rough estimate… exceptions do apply. But with strangers and taking your personal time into account you don’t want to gamble such things on fights like Vykass where 1 person screwing up a mechanic = all 8 people die/wipe.
Edit: I look at multiple factors. stats ,engravings, gems, cards, and yes roster too. I would rather take a high roster 4x3 than a lvl 60 roster zerker with weapon +25 and 5x3 build. Why? Because on the other end stats alone don’t mean someone is skilled, in this case his lower roster means he is a whale, and just swiped to get his power. You compare all stats together and then form an estimate. Maybe you guessed wrong, unlucky. Then hopefully that person can find another group or create his own.
let me say this slowly.
it is not a rough estimate of anything besides time spent collecting mokoko’s.
if you are using roster level too determine who can and cannot join a group, then im very happy ill never be in one of them. because thats a shit-show waiting too happen.
Im roster 156 and let me tell you, I haven’t been mokoko hunting. I raid on 3 characters. But let’s agree to disagree.
ytd my alt pally 5x3 got decile over a paladin that more 15 ilvl than me, and problem is he is 3x3 only , then my 1445 sorc also dont get accept in vykass normal when i alr have title , 4/2 relic set and 4x3+2 engraving with LoS18 , lol ppl gatekeeping ilvl
Oh,
I forgot it is toxic if ppl dont want to play with you…
Sadly there arent many ways to get ppl that knows raid in grp. What we as grp leaders have to look at?
Stronghold lvl?
Roster
Lvl
ilvl
engravings
Gems
Engravings and gems and ilvl legit mean nothing cuz you can just swipe.
Lvl can tell you if this is fresh alt
rooster lvl tells you if ppl play on this rooster alot.
Rosterlvl Is legit only thing that can tell you if players plays alot since I cant see your achivs, cant ask you to “link cutting edge” like in wow
It is not best system but it is better than blind accepting ppl.
Also create your own raid gps you will get classist in 2-3 days.
After 3 days you wont accept low rooster lvl arcanists/zerkers/deadeye/gunslinger
And raids will get faster and faster.
I know the feeling. This reset i got in G1 Hard with a leader spam pinging all over the map telling me where to go trying to act bossy (had my kid with me while playing and stole someone spot during the run and the leader was trying to babysit me after that)
Luckily my internet went down at the start at G2 and when i came back they replaced me. Last reset i finished with ALT group without problems. I don’t care if don’t clear this week (sadly i was not able to join my guild run). I’m 2 upgrades away to 1490. Have the mats but low on gold. After 1490 i`ll focus on my 1370 alts. Pheons made my gold disappear but at least 4/6 alts are 3x3. It is what it is. I had complete silent groups and others that were very funny. They are different every time.
It is not about you in particular, it never was. It is about the playerbase in general. And we all are sifted through that filter, no exceptions.
Of course you will have a harder time applying to content with low Expedition lvl.
It is the same as if you were applying with an off-meta 4x3 and a negative lvl 2. Regardless if you have sets or not, you will only be accepted 1/10 times. Probably.
And you can’t complain. It is your choice, in either case (to save gold by going a weaker off-meta way or save time and effort by skipping some side-content, etc.) and you have to live with it now ![]()
by all means create your own party accepting a bunch of low roster players…
gotta get better mate ![]()
So you sit behind your screen being a keyboard warrior telling someone else on a game forum that they have no life and should do something for a better society? And what exactly are you contributing here for a better world? You’re more full of yourself than anyone else here. I don’t make fun of casual gamers, people can play and enjoy the game however they want, yet you sit here insulting people who like the game a lot and spend more time on it. Disgusting.
Again noone is expecting you to put the same time and effort in a game. But on the same coin, you shouldn’t expect royalty treating and get to go with those people you seemingly dislike so much. Group up with your ‘‘better society’’ and have all the fun you want. ![]()
