Just finished 4x3 my bard. Total cost: 65 pheons accs + 75 stones. basically the 15th stone went 6/6. Around 13-14k worth of gold only for pheons. I’m not really complaining anymore, just stating my experience, my 2 cents if you will. Do as you wish with this info.

Im still waiting for the riot that spending 100 MILLION gold to go from +7 to +8 Ester weapon.
Nobody spends 150k gold to hone on an alt.
10k for pheons? Probably if you want to pug 1430 vykas.
By the time we get there, KR already got +10 Esther weapons
10k, or with unlucky stones 15k for pheons is enough to get 4x3 for an alt, which is enough to even go vykas hard at 1460

and depending on how many alts to gear, with a weekly income of 50~100k, that is just a fraction to spend on pheons
Even new players with only 1 main character can generate enough gold in 2 weeks to afford all the pheons needed

Pheons are terrible system period, ppl need to stop defending this
Better then the potential alternatives that would be introduced if there was no pheon system to drive blue/royal crystal sales.

I would have to agree with this. It just gives them the reason to double dip and in my opinion it’s highway robbery!! I’m sick of these tactics they use to Nickle and dime everyone!!

It should at least be scaled vs the item. It shouldn’t cost 5 or 9 pheons to buy something at is 100 gold. Maybe if it <250 gold its zero pheons and >250 it begins to scale. Idk the exact number but something like that. As i’m typing i realize how much of a waste of time this is because it will never change.
Yeah you are right - its not too hard as an f2p to manage your pheon and BC use.
Since Im not leet I dont even bother with 7/7, just 7/5, 8/5 or 8/4 which takes 2 or 3 (and yes sometimes 5 or 6) attempts. Im happily 4x3 and 4x3 +1 on any alt I have. No leg books and didnt spend more than around 5k (gold) for the setups. ez and happy mode.
As has been pointed out, its not for us, its for AGS / SG to make money, Real world $$.
Personally, but I wont go into details again, I think they are there as a non-flipping instrument, but they are definitely there to just ensure f2p activity gets converted to $$ and that f2p’ers are in a minimal way gated behind p2w players. Its makes SG $$, thats it.
What about, no pheons when buy accesories, stones, but after you buy accesories, stones become bound to character and if you want trade again, you must buy an trade pass with 9, 25 pheons?
Korea tried that already and it was horrible.
It used to be an item to “seal” accessories to make them tradable, obtainable from the store, but since the seller had to buy it, there were no cheap non-bis accessories on the market at all.
No one will pay 25 pheons to put 40gold accessory on the auction house.
Only best in slot, or nothing, because if no one buys your item, rip ‘trade pass’. wasted money
This lead to less and less accessories listed, made it impossible for “cheap” builds and gearing alts because every single piece was expensive
→ so in auction house, you can choose between 50k, 60k or 80k gold earring for your alts. But hey, 0 pheons
I mean, to become bound after you buy it from auction house, not if you get an good accesories/stones from dungeons, drops etc. After you drop, item is not bound, you can put it in auction house without spending pheons but if you buy it from ah, item begome bound to your char and if you want sell it again, buy trade pass with pheons(same number of pheons like now)
