I never pay after 1 expension because I was helping people and people was buying me game time etc. (but I am not average so I need to mention about their monthly price)
There are some streamers who didn’t even pay and are 1370.
You need knowledge to be good at this game as a F2P player.
I can give you some streamers’ names I have no problem, yes they play lot of hours but they didn’t pay only early packs.
I am a F2P player and I’m almost 1370 too, you are just doing some FOMO because you can’t catch up people who either play a lot or spend a lot of money.
Dude there is nothing to miss if you are late in PvE
You can finish Lost Ark without money and only time and skill. Paying to win in Lost Ark only speeds up the rate at which you progress, it doesn’t put you on an unobtainable level compared to free to play players.
Ofc you can do but do you want to do contents 3months later ? (it is just number this might be 1 month or 5 months).
To be clear im t3 and I am 1330+ but it will be harder later and it will reach nearly imposible level after.
Some people think I qqing because I dont have time, no I can play all day. Also I can buy gold, but I prefer not to buy. Bc my situation is not the case. I am talkiing for peopl who enjoy the game even spend lots of time and only able to watch whales in raids instead of playing.

I was thinking this gam might be grind based but it is worse than that. Because for me i have time I can farm 3333 hours if needed but sources are limited except market.

Why would I be concerned about doing content 3 months later? The game has already been out for years in other markets, we’re all literally years behind. If you want to be a “world first” progression raider in WoW, don’t you have to catch up to the current content as well? You can speed up your progression with WoW Tokens, or go slower without, right?
I see what you’re trying to say, but you’re not going to get SmileGate to see “the error of their ways” and remove all pay to win from the game, it’s at the very core of the game.
Edit: If being the absolute best as fast as possible is necessary for someone, then I suggest playing something else or start swiping. I’m fine with this as long as I’m not forced to pay and have some content to do.
I still don’t understand, you talked about your PvP experience as a reference and not PvE on WoW, I would be sure if you played PvE at a competitive level in a top guild in WoW you would be crying about how much money you would need to stay relevant in this game.
This game took years for people to reach 1500 on KR version before the catch up mecs in LATE 2021. It’s not a sprint toward Argos and who clears it the fastest, it’s about enjoying the game and when you will get to this point you will feel rewarded.
For sure it sucks to fail your honing but it’s a RNG and RNG makes a game live longer.
It’s a F2P so whales are the one who keep alive the game mostly until they release some good skins (and it will still be whales who are keeping the game alive)
There is one korean streamer who is top 3 world and spent 100k$ so yes, you will never catch up to him but do you need to be at his iLvl to clear the content? Hell no, you can do it and he will carry your ass and you will be glad.
For me, I don’t feel any competiveness in PvE contents if they don’t bring this “First Clear” like in WoW. People need just to understand iLvl is just a key to enter Abyssal Raid, if you have bad engravings, bad gems, bad cards someone who did his job correctly would be more interesting.
Right now, whales paid tons of money just to have a key and that’s all.

I agree with you, I would prefer a game akin to old WoW that just had a subscription and no cash shop or pay to win at all. Unfortunately developing MMOs is expensive and risky and usually only bigger companies (with bigger financial backing) can afford the risk and cost, so they get monetized to hedge their bets.
Though with the game development tooling getting better and better and easier and easier for indie devs, we might start to see independently developed MMORPGs that don’t use these systems. There’s hope, I just sincerely doubt there’s hope at SmileGate.
Dude nothing will change, this game is Top 2 played game behind League of Legends in Korea, Koreans do not care about a guy paying tons of money to get faster because it doesn’t affect your own gameplay. If PvP was not equalized and you iLvl would be your “strength” then it would be P2W for sure.
You do not realize how this game is friendly compared to Korea version (talking for example about the new event where in Korea it’s 8 tokens instead of 100 tokens per chaos cleared)

Short story: I am boomer who used to play in same playground with everybody in online games, even I spend more than 12+ hours everyday it is imposible to reach high end content, but if u pay money you can do it right now, I am boomer who can’t accept market / gem shop logic in mmorpg thats all.
And some memories about daoc,ultima online, wow etc. Basically random guy bullshitting in forum. I am saying bullshitting bc nothing will change but I wanted to write my feelings thats all.
The consumer set the bar, right? But you have so many people that just don’t care about the value of money. For many, giving $50 for a good t-shirt or good food is just the same as giving to a company selling virtual clothes and virtual food. What isn’t an issue to support the development of the game, but have a limit, after a certain amount that money is just going to flood the pocket of some stackholders and investors.
You could also pay before you just didn’t know about that then.

As I said if you wanted to be competitive in PvE in WoW you would have to pay tons of money to go to a top guild. You could buy gold from website or players before dude, if you think WoW wasn’t P2W then you should check some videos about it. You had B2P + Sub + Cash shop, all at once, yet you didn’t care about it because you were thinking it was good old time.
I also loved my MMOs back then but it was more P2W because people were mostly young and had no idea about it.
I don’t care if someone pays 1k$ to do Argos right now, it will never affect my gameplay, I will never see this dude in my entire life because most of the game is a 4 to 8 players party.
The only thing where Lost Ark is P2W for sure is GvG because it is your PvE gear but no one plays GvG in Korea because first it’s bad and second you can get against whales guild.
I’m not sure what the original wall of text was but I dropped 150 USD alone today on the game.
It may sound mean but if you cant afford 20 to 100 bucks a month on a game you shouldnt be playing them to begin with.
I am not in race with whales, I don’t like market system this is first problem. But lets say I said SanaChan is right fcuk whales and continue. Problem is everyday you can do only few things to get mats thats why people playing 1-2 hours and quitting because there is no other ways to get materials, if there is they are roster bound or one time deals.
Yea it is awesome solution, are you leading healthcare in USA? bc people dying in front of hospital bc they can’t afford basic healthcare. (which is free or nearly free in many countries around the world; developed or less developed) But you are right if some1 cant afford 1-5k for its health, there is nothing important than our health so they shouldn’t be alive.
If you play 1-2 hours a day and you don’t have any alts for sure people will quit.
This game is a marathon, you need lot of alts to feed your main character.
Lost Ark is not a game for everyone, if people don’t like RNG, having multiple alts then of course they should quit.
I would not recommend Lost Ark to someone who hates those things.
If you do your dailies (chaos, raid) and weeklies (abyssal) and with the event occuring right now, there should be no problem to gear up.
This game is about knowledge, there are so many things to know to have gold, materials but most people do not care about knowledge they want to have everything for free and no effort.
If you wanted to rush T3 in one month with few hours a day for sure you could.
Yes, also you can’t play with your main for a reason, If you like bard you need to create 5 other bardss or you need to play Gunlancer whatever. There is no option to progress with your main.
Yea I think for me and for many people this is not our game thats all.
This part is my idea: If they keep everything same I think this game will be dead soon, I dont think 90% will people continue to play when they really understand need of 10 alts or see %3 honning chance. without these people there is no point playing in empty mmo world.
Also in same time 5millions of bots joined, if they start to dupe, this will be new world v.2.0 but ofc amazon already did lots of profit even in month, if this happens probably they will make new mmorpg and continue to milk
Sure if you want to be on the epeen gear leaderboard in KR you won’t compete F2P.
On the other hand it is EXTREMELY easy to get to the ilv required for new content when it releases in KR/RU, every player from other versions I’ve asked has said they have never been ilv gated from new content in t3.
