Letter to the Community

Yeah, this crossed my mind, too. WHatever they decide to implement, it should be chosen carefully.

I like two ideas:

  1. I want every raid to have a rehearsal mode and I want the rewards for those modes to be better. Maybe even let those modes provide necessary materials for upgrade, albeit at 2x or 4x slower pace than doing normal ones and hard ones.

  2. I like Satashi’s idea about Karma collecting. We would be able to help mokokos on lower-tier content and get some currencly such as Karma points which we could swap for rewards, something like Mayhem and Phantom marks.

I think those two ideas would rejuvenate this game - if this game has such a potential some of you guys think it does.

Me, I’m not even sure that’s true. It’s still a niche grindy Korean game, after all xD But at least we wouldn’t be hearing about people quitting because of too much pressure and toxicity and being forced to do something to enjoy something else.

Yeah it will only catch a portion of player till they meet kakul our brel without being prepared then you will see more thread « kakul is dogshit »

How can someone handle a brel raid if he struggle to do an Argos run

I dont get this change also, maybe its just something to pull player in, feels like a bait imo.

Ma man like those issues everybody knows about and some they did fixed some are more complex but in the end they are communicating and doing the best for the consumers the prices in the game already impressive for old and new players and the game slowly reaching a perfect state i really dont know what u guys are expecting from a video game in this forum because malding here is next level

I can’t express how fundamentally broken their “trusted status” sistem currently is. Recently i replied to a random new player trying to use the AH and followed each step of his frustrating journey.

→ had spent more than $5 on steam, more than two months ago
→ could trade csgo skins just fine in the steam market
→ had 2fa with phone verification, enabled and disabled it multiple times to make sure

Still not trusted for lost ark. Agents told him and over to spend money in the game shop to solve it. That is a lie.
The moment his first steam transaction reached 3 months old (Lmao) he immediately became trusted. No store purchases at all. The game is literally unplayable unless you spent money three months ago minimun or threw money at AGS (supposedly). What?

We still have no idea of how they operate or how the flags work. But one thing is very clear, if you buy from another legit player, absolutely nothing will ever happen. I have seen this happen since the launch of the game. Arguably botted gold is immediately bannable, but by my own research that is hardly the case, and it really feels more like the community coping. It happened with new world, seems to be happening here. The 55 Billion amount is meaningless aswell, as we have no idea what % of total RMT gold that is. And besides, they could simply make all this shit up aswell. Would anyone be surprised?

The legion raid for new players issue is…complicated. I honestly have no idea how they can solve it. Yes, throwing every single horizontal progression at them easily will help a lot (and many vets will feel resentment for this, although i disagree with the sentiment), but you can’t give them skill; You nerf valtan and vykas? The Suffering is pushed to kakul. Making previous raids easier won’t make them better at engaging with the next raids, especially when 90% of raids are the same systems regurgigated: pizzas, velganos, medusa, you get the idea.

The daily content and class release talk is upsetting. Somehow they want to pretend, that took one fucking year, to reach this conclusion. Thats calling us stupid, to say the least. People waited an entire year for a class that already existed in the game, thats unexcusable and you can’t pretend it was due to not knowing any better.

The rest does seem pretty good though. Did it change my views on the game and how i’ll approach upcoming game releases? lmao, no. But still nice for everyone else.

I agree, i think having something like :

Easy mode : you get basically no gold or materials or anything but only the token to upgrade your gear and keep progressing your character in your adventure (aimed playerbase : hard casuals/casuals who just want to have « fun » and a good time grinding and improving character, this mode will have no instant wipe team mechanics

Normal mode : as it today (aimed playerbase : semi casual or players from easy mode who finally want to push their limit to get more golds)

Hard mode : as it is today to aim semi tryhard/tryharder who play for the challenge, maybe more gold and the sideral stone,rare cosmetics stuff, whatever glamour items to motivate us…

Ik this sound like an FF14 difficulty system and need a lot of human ressources to code many different difficulty mode but i think that if they did it for kayangel they can do something for raids or at least just put upgrade tokens into rehersal mode

You know what I think, that’s exactly what I meant xD

Plus add to that the Karma system (which in this case would be an overkill for some raids, but whatever) so that more experience players are incentivized to help the mokokos learn the mechanics easier (even though they’re not wipeable, they would help them clear it first time so they could get the initial success boost / momentum to help them proceed or even dare to venture to normal and hard modes later on). I mean, even the clown rehearsal took me several hours to complete first time, so this would cut that effort down a notch.

And I think it would be gucci. I would empty that Karma shop in a few days, I swear to God.

I don’t like owing people (paradoxically, IRL i have a lot of debts, but it is what it is when you’re a CEO) and my characters got carried many times and I’ve participated in learning groups as both a mentor and the mentored, and I think rewarding such behavior would help this game a lot as not everyone is as altruistic as I am (although to be fair, there are much more altruistic people than me, but that just goes to show how selfish most people are - and that’s ok, we’re programmed to be selfish, even altruism has selfish roots)

Everything I read there does not help us at all on EU WEST.
How does it finally look with the server merge?

When I try to find group for the cube or for a boss rush you just find nothing or you have to wait “forever”!

Even the new content (Brelshaza Hard) are relatively few groups to find.

If I look at EU Central “Asta” are there 4-6 times the amount of groups to find.

See to it that you get the problem solved!!!

Whether there are less bots running around on the server or players are allowed to use combat items for free in Guardian Raids of the earlier level is absolutely no matter to me and brings me nothing.

The main problem is NOT solved in this way!

Yeah agreed there are noticeable gaps in some of the major problems that this letter avoided, such as Regional / Server merges.

Sorry @Altair13 If I wanted to play FF, I wouldn’t be here. Leave LA core mechanic as it is.
You want easier and more casual friendly game? There’s plenty out there, go pick the one you like.

I’m only excited about upcoming sea activities improvement, all other things they announced are not beneficial for me at all.

I don’t need it, but I do want it as it would make the game more accessible to more casual players and it should benefit the game health and economy.

it’s all about the bigger picture with me. I never base my decisions and suggestions only on what I want.

The letter in a nut shell is, we see the problems. We want to deal with them, but we need to discuss them more. Like i’m sorry what? If you see the problems FIX THE PROBLEMS. Nerfing Argos does nothing for the gate keeping. Who care if its easier, if they still can’t get into a raid. Fix the resource problem first, make it all bound. New players can’t make gold, prop up the gold if your accounts is X roster/age score and make it bound for upgrading. LIke 1000 for AH spending and 2000 gold bound till 1445 or something for upgrades. You talk about burn out, but you need more internal discussion? It’s a ALT GAME, your making us do the same task 2x2x6 on a average account or even 2x2x3-6. Jesus if each was 5 minutes, that’s like 4-5 hours just doing dailies. Most average adults have 2-4 hours spare time after work. All of my time goes into dailies, I can’t even raid. Just reduce it. Make it 1 time a week where I can check a box or 2. And do 1x7(days) and get 80% of the rewards.

You say your tackling RMT and Bots, ok. I see Bots are still in full force not as bad as month 3-9. But go back and ban all the pervious RMTers and Current. Than we will believe you, the hell. Who cares if your taking STRONG approaches to RMT. The STRONGEST approach is to ban them, not oh he has 10million gold in his accounts in gems. Let’s give him 1 month ban. Like what? Go back and delete their weapons/accessories on all accounts and gems/cards on all accounts. There, you can be lenient let them have their late game armor just delete the fun stuff. So if they RMT again, it’ll be the most expensive things in the game, make them pay twice.

Sure, if they stick to fishing or solo farming guardians to provide mats and relic acc, cause vet players don’t want to raid with them and never will for obvious reasons.

That is unfortunately the problem. They are so late to acknowledge and finally say publicly that they want to address all these issues that most players already lost interest and left or are just riding out the next few months waiting on D4/T&L/BP/Whatever and it doesn’t matter to them what happens to LA anymore.

All of what was said is good, helping the new player matters, helping the returning player matters and helping the diehard who’s been loyal and stuck it out this long matters… had they maybe come out with this Letter 6 months ago.

Because saying we will start to fix these problems now but we just need to think about it some more and give us until end of summer… well by end of summer a lot of new games will have come out and even if they flop, once a player leaves LA for a couple weeks, they don’t come back.

Read the thread, at least the first part of it, about raiding, and you’ll see that’s clearly not the case. If you incentivize them properly, they WILL raid with new players. Maybe you won’t, but I will, and I know many players who will.

Sadly they prefer to pay for buses instead taking time to properly learn raid mechanics with other new players.

That’s just because the incentives aren’t worth the hassle. I’ve seen it all and experienced it all from different perspectives, both as a mokoko learner, and as a veteran helping.

Not true at all. Ambitious players don’t need any incentives, and lazy ones will stay like that no matter what.

I was talking about veterans helping mokokoks learn the raids in much more forgiving environments, not incentives to play the game, lol.

Anyway, how would these changes negatively impact your experience? Because if the answer is that they wouldn’t, why are you opposing them? What does it matter to you?

If this game turns into casual crap for noobs like FF or WoW nowadays, I’ll just quit. So yes it matters to me.

It’s sad that their only option is to bus, in a game where barely anyone is the lower tiers are raiding. Most people that do bus aren’t roster 120 or below they tend to be higher in my experience. I bus all my alts, 1000 gold that’s fine I generate like 100k-200k a week. But new players in my guilds always ask for learning parties. They are extremely restricted, no one wants to teach because new content constantly comes out. Like by the time we settle on Brel Hard, SET 3 will come out. By the time Set 3 Is SET clown hard comes out. By the time we set Akkan Comes out. Before we know it Akkan Hard comes out.

it’s sort of sad that we are getting pushed so fast. But also a great thing that we get to keep up. But the burnout and the new players left behind warrants a pause eventually. A simple solution is to dramatically increase resource and gold gain. “But inflation” what’s 1000 now if we generate 1000 and 5000 if we generate 5000. Nothing but larger numbers.
